Recently, I've had an urge to bake. I was going to just make cookies, but I saw this recipe and just had to try it. Cake batter blondies. A blondie is like a vanilla brownie. They are delicious. Here's what you need: A box of yellow cake mix 1/4 C rainbow sprinkles 1/4 C canola oil 1 egg 1/4 - 1/2 C milk 1/2 C white chocolate chips (optional) First, preheat your oven to 350 Fahrenheit. Then, put the cake mix and sprinkles in a bowl and stir in the oil and egg. Add the milk very slowly, just until the batter is combined. You may have some milk left over. The batter should be super dense and thick. Stir in the white chocolate chips if you decide to add them. Spread the batter in a greased 8x8 inch pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be golden in color. I had this individual brownie pan that I have been dying to test out, so I decided to use it. It took 15 minutes for them to bake. The center will be nice and gooey. Now, here comes the hard part. You HAVE to let them cool for 20 minutes! The gooey, delicious center needs time to set. Otherwise, you end up with a drippy mess. Bake it too long and you end up with a cakier texture. This is what they should look like. The center is what gives it the cake batter texture. So delicious!
Texturally, they are different than Congo bars. They're a little fudgier and not as crumbly as Congo bars.
Mine always came out kind of crumbly. \: Half the time, the recipe I had never even turned out. I think it wasn't a good recipe for them. ):
