Sowwie!! I had soccer tryouts, then soccer practice right after, then I had to say goodbye to my cousin, then I had a ton of homework
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Selene's POV "Selene!" I glance up to see Savannah in tears. "You know how I was talking about how you could ruin anyone? Please-" "No," I interrupt firmly. "I swore I would never tell anyone's secret." "But… Adeline… she called me fat, and shoved me on the ground." "I said no." Savannah glances up, her tearstained face suddenly contorting with rage. "Fine," she snarled. "You won't help me, just one time, after I've been completely humiliated? Well, I'll make you fall with her." I watch her stomp away. Oh well. No loss for me. "Selene." Trey stops me from walking away. "There's this girl in the cafeteria claiming to know everyone's secret. I thought that was you." He looks genuinely confused. "What's her name?" "Um… some kind of plant. Fern? Willow? Ivy?" "Cypress?" That made sense. Cypress Ouritania is almost like my twin. She looks like me, dresses like me, and talks like me. Except she is constantly in my shadow. I would place first in a contest and she would place second. Cypress struggles to stand out. If she knows more secrets than me, that would make her shine. "Yeah, that's it. Do you want to stop her?" "Nah, let her." Why should I care? If she wants to be special, who am I to stop her? "Suit yourself." Trey seems to think I'm making a poor choice, but he steps aside and lets me pass. I start walking, but abruptly skid to a stop when a folded piece of paper flutters out of my binder. Apprehensively, I open it. You're probably wondering what I want. The answer? Secrets. Let's start with Adeline. You wouldn't want your little friend to be mad at you, would you? Tell her secret. Or else. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Kinda late… oops
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Selene's POV It's just one secret. One little rumor, no harm done. No one will know. "Hey," I tap the boy's shoulder next to me. He turns, clutching his spiral bound notebook to his chest, clad in a lacrosse jersey. "Yeah?" "Have you heard? About Adeline?" "Um, no." "She's only dating Evan because he's, like, TOTALLY rich." I had picked up on the gossipy style of talking from Savannah. "For real?" "Yeah. Ohmigosh! Her, like, true love is Albert! That nerdy guy!" He starts laughing, tears trickling down his shaking cheeks. He seems to forget that he's talking to me, someone completely different from the rest of the school. I feel like an almost normal teenager. "Wow. Wait until I tell Jennifer. And Steve! Tyler'll get a kick outta this, for sure." He scampers off. I breathe a sigh of relief. That had gone smoother than I thought. It feels as though someone lifted a boulder off my back. I am no longer burdened by that secret. But thousands of other boulders are still weighing me down. For a second, I am looking forward to the notes so I can tell more stories. But then I remember. These are terrible secrets. Things that could devastate someone, and ruin their lives. In a few days, this will all blow over. Everyone will forget about it. Right? <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Really powering through these!
