fra·ter·ni·ty /frəˈtərnitē/ Noun A group of people sharing a common profession or interests: "members of the hunting fraternity". A male students' society in a university or college. Synonyms brotherhood - fellowship - sodality Roflcopters. Good luck, my fellow man.
Joining a sorority will not help you much at all. If you want to impress graduate schools focus on internships and volunteer hours. I would recommend just focussing on school for your first semester because it's a big transition. After your first semester, join clubs and throw in some volunteer hours. Then by the end of your first year in college look for internships. Preferably in places that relate to your future goal..that will speak volumes...not a sorority. A big thing also is get to know professors because when you apply to internships you will need letters of recommendation. Don't be afraid to go visit them in office hours and talk to them.
Thanks and over the summer I did an internship I was only going to pledge because my mom was once one but thank for the advice
