Gideon's Disgrace• Chapter One- Jane groaned as she walked, cracking her neck. Liam shuddered, his british accent ringing in her ears. "Would you not do that, Jane? It gives me the chills..." he whined, rubbing the back of his neck. "Quit whining, Liam." she snapped back at him, walking. "I don't understand why Gideon just didn't send Jillian or Curse to do this"- "Because Curse is the keeper and caster of curses. And Jillian is only for bait, dumbass." she snorted, cracking her knuckles next. Liam rolled his eyes, muttering under his breath. "Any demonic souls yet, scanner boy?" she asked, looking around. "No, not yet. You see any?" "If I did, don't you think I would've said something? Common sense, Liam." Liam froze, grabbing Jane's arm. "What is it?" she whispered. "Don't move.. They're everywhere." They laced their hands together, Liam turning into a weapon. Jane swung upwards, slicing in a perfect circle. One by one, the invisible souls became visible as big, black and crimson eyed monsters. They snarled at Jane and Liam. They were all various sizes, big and small, skinny to fat.. Jane slashed a hole into a large one's stomach, it leaking rubies all over the blade of Liam. One by one, the blood of each individual monster mixed with the blood on the silver blade, and all over Jane. By the time they were finished, there were maybe twenty glowing souls of orange surrounding them. Jane exhaled in relief, thinking it was over. A frail girl in the bushes watched as the two were slaying each shadow of evil. In her attempt to leave, Jane grabbed her arm and hissed lowly. "What did you see?" "N-nothing! I swear!" "You swear nothing! What did you see!?" Jane hissed, shoving the elven girl against the tree. Liam stood behind Jane, ready to pull her back anytime. "I-I only saw the end..!" "That means nothing to me! You saw the blood splatter everywhere!" The girl whimpered, trying to get free. "Liam. You reason with her, I don't have time for this." said Jane, shoving her one last time before pulling a big, brown cloth sack from her pocket, putting each orange soul inside. Liam whispered, trying to comfort the girl. Maybe he thought within the fact that he was covered in a foul monster's blood and he just shifted back and forth from weapon to human didn't scare her. "I-I didn't see anything except you shifting back and forth from that.. Thing!" Liam was trying to contain himself from spewing venom and harsh words into her face. "What you saw means you need to be marked"- "Marked!?" she screamed, wanting to leave. Liam took both her hands, their eyes frozen, staring into each other's. "Love, it won't hurt.." he said, making an LJ on her wrist. "Eleanor won't like this.." she whimpered, pointing to a black mist, suddenly appearing. Jane was tying up the sack as the mist appeared. "The hell.." Jane exhaled, glaring at Liam. Liam put his hands up in surrender, looking at Jane. Out of the black mist came a woman, around Liam and Jane's age. Her eyes were a brilliant green, and her brown hair tumbled down her shoulders. She stood to about Jane's height of 6'0. "Hello..." she smirked, folding her arms. Her red and black gown was perfectly laced and everything. Her skin was darker than the moon, only slightly darker. Jane twitched, speaking first. "Who the fuck are you?" "I am Eleanor.. A guardian of her." she said, pointing a finger at the girl. The girl walked to Eleanor easily and without fright. Liam cocked his head to the side. "This is Johanna..." Eleanor chirped with a slight evil in her voice. Liam's hazel eyes burned crimson with black flecks in them now, freezing. Jane leaned against a tree, brushing her black curls away from her face, her ice blue eyes watching Eleanor and Johanna. "And you're a demon.. And the girl is elven.." Jane said, fixing her cuffs. Eleanor glared in Jane's direction, meanwhile Johanna's eyes were fixed on Liam. "Yah? And what's it to ya?" "Besides the fact that, that girl," Jane said, pointing a black fingernail in Johanna's direction. "saw both my assistant and I kill at least 20 demon souls, I assume there's something wrong there." Eleanor growled, Johanna's eyes still fixed on Liam's blank expression. "So? She didn't know until ya told her." "Maybe I need to clarify. I just said she watched me kill 20 demon souls. Are you just stupid or were you dropped as a child?"Jane hissed. Liam barked,"Jane! Manners!" Jane rolled her eyes, glancing down at her black, turquoise and sea green nails. "Anyway, like I said, she watched murder. Therefore, needing to be marked. Johanna quickly snapped her head back to Eleanor's face, only to see a growing rage expression. "You marked her!?" "It's a curse." Liam said, his expression remaining blank. Eleanor and Johanna turned their heads to look at Liam. "A curse!?" they both shouted. "Curse, the keeper and caster of curses"- Then, a gray skinned figured appeared. Her eyes glowed a bright magenta, and her makeup made her look like the joker, only with black hair. "I heard my name." "And speak of the mist.." Jane muttered, cracking her back. "Now who the hell is this?!" Eleanor groaned. "That's Curse." The gray skinned woman looked to be in her 20's or so, the faint red painted smile on her face was fake. She held no emotion at the moment. "Curse?" "That's me. The curse that's been out on your little Johanna only is undone when Jane here has broken her curse, which has been going for 6 years straight." Eleanor stomped over to Curse, attempting to punch her in the face. Curse disappeared in white mist, appearing behind Eleanor, kicking her in the back. "W-What exactly does this curse do to her?..." Eleanor coughed, pushing herself up off the ground. "Drives her to complete insanity. Hallucinations and spasms included." Curse said blankly. Jane looked down at the ground in shame. "What is her curse?..." Johanna piped up, pointing to Jane. Jane had complete shame grown onto her face expression, meanwhile Liam's had returned to a blank canvas. "To find true love." "That's so generic as a curse!" "It was casted. That's what happens when you're foolish." said Curse, throwing a glance in Jane's direction, whom was gnawing on her sleeves. "Anyway, I was coming to inform you of this anyway. Thanks for sparing me time." Curse said with a simple disappearance. Liam sat on the grass, blank. "Well then. Don't you two have quite a bit to explain, eh?" "Yes. Yes we do." said Liam, pursing his lips. Jane looked up, for once having tears in her eyes.
