My Dirty Little Secret...

  1. Ohhhhhhh meeee gaaawwwd. Please look more into the 'humane society' and where the money is spent. Also google 'petakillsanimals' and see what you get. A 95% euthanasia rate I believe. Don't hand your unwanted animals over there.

Same with sea shepherd. If you want to hand some money over to a scumbag lying pirate who is wanted for his crimes by Interpol then go ahead. If you want to help some animals, ignore all the major hyped up crap and dig deeper. If you have a brain and it isn't already washed by these parasitic organisations then I promise, it'll give you food for thought.

  2. Sorry Oreo. That wasn't a rant at you personally, just generally. I posted a pic of my cat once (he was yawning) and some psycho animal activist sent me a heap of abuse claiming that I was abusing a poor defenceless animal lol. Ive had friends threatened etc for standing up against some of the major orgs and see red. You're correct. Animals shouldn't be amused at all. Your local no kill shelter is the best place to be. As long as PETA of H$U$ don't run it 

  3. Awwwwww she's a cutie!! 

I don't like turning pets in to shelters, bcs I know there's a risk of them being put to sleep  so I think the best thing is to make absolutely sure you can take care of a pet and be responsible for it before welcoming a pet into your home; many people get a puppy and after the novelty wears off they neglect the pet or put them out on the streets 

  4. save animals

  5. My local shelter IS a no kill shelter  me and my friend made sure it was a no kill 

  6. That's awesome!! I wish we had no kill shelters here  it really stinks that so many animals are put to sleep without ever being given a chance to be placed in a good home 

  7. I work at my local shelter n at the animal hospital

  8. What really bothers me about this thread is that it revolves completely around domestic animal abuse. There is way worse treatment of animals that are not domesticated.

Pretty much all over Asia, you can find special farms set up for extracting the bile from moon bears. Traditional eastern medicine believes that their bike is good for reducing inflammation and detoxifying the body. But it has started to be used in commercial products like shampoo for no reason at all except to use up the surplus of bile.

Once born, the moon bears are kept in cages so small that they cannot sit upright or move at all. This makes extracting the bile easier by restricting the bear's movement. The bears often never see the light of day.

Sometimes, a metal catheter is placed into the bear's gall bladder and held permanently in place so that the bile drains as the bear produces it. The bile may also be extracted by a huge needle. And, if those methods don't seem cruel enough, there is one more for you: the free dripping technique. To drain the bile in this way, a metal rod is inserted into the gall bladder and the wound is kept permanently open. To keep the wound open, these farmers re-open the wound once or twice a day.

A constantly open wound means infection and, eventually, death. If they don't die from infection, they die from the stress put on their bodies by their cages.

Extracting the bile is painful. Keeping the wound open is painful. The bears will bang their heads against their cages, moan, and chew on their own paws because of the pain.

As many as 12,000 moon bears are currently suffering throughout Asia. Please help end this awful, unnecessary cruelty. There are several websites dedicated to closing these farms. Go online and get involved!

  9. Agreed, this is sick and pointless. Just like shark finning, ivory poaching and tiger killing for the 'medicine' trade. How to end that one I'm not sure :/

  10. I know, I only focused on domestic animal abuse because it is less horrifying. I didn't post any of the stories about special places inhumanely killing cats or dogs so they could eat them.

I didn't want anyone to get sick to their stomach

  11. Amanda-please and Oreo both state
Important causes, that should be being taken care of!

What if we were those bears having a tube in our bladders? oW!

    Good post

  12.  dawgies!!!!! I love dawgies so no one will ever hurt any dawgies I get in the future!

  13. Some of the things that go on in the name of animal rescue/rights is just as sickening. I've learnt a lot through digging deeper into some of the big organisations. It's sickening where donations end up.

  14. Quite frankly, I think no kill shelters are abusive, if they mean what I think... The pets never being euthanized? If so, the animals that are going through so much pain, are being left there to suffer. That's just terrible…

  15. But again, I know nothing about any of this. ._. I'll take casper's word for it about the big organizations. But my uncle had a wiener dog that had like Tumors in his lungs or something. Had he not been euthanized, he would've died an extremely slow, extremely painful death. The best thing to do was to put him to sleep... And if a no kill shelter means never doing that, those people are insane...

  16. I believe that no kill shelters work that no healthy animal is put down Blockey. A sick animal that needs to be put to sleep for it's own sake may be, but no kill tends to mean that no healthy animal will be killed.

  17. For a sick animal, fast death is better then slowly going through the pain.

  18. Oh. Then that's fine and the name is just misleading. ._.  but isn't it common sense to just not put down the healthy ones? o_O

  19. I love wolves

  20. Horse are often whipped alot I should know I ride horses somethimes but beating up one with a metal bat there's a limit to everything poor horse btw I have a toy poodle and no it's not a toy lol it's a real dog and the only abuse it's gotten is me nagging at it while it was potty training
