I'm so sorry I haven't updated! My family went back home, so heres a HUGE update! ______________________________ I stepped into the cafeteria as my heart beat like crazy and I looked around. There was SO many people! My stomach growling again made me give up the idea of skipping lunch and I got in line. I looked around the entire cafeteria wondering where I would sit. 'This cafeteria's packed! I don't really see anywhere to sit.' I thought. Well, any empty table to sit at. There were empty seats, but they were next to random people and I wasn't very good at making conversations. I went through the lunch line and grabbed my lunch. It was nachos. 'Wow that looks really good' I thought hungrily. I looked around and noticed an empty table where I could sit at. 'Guess I'm eating by myself' I thought sadly. I sat down at the table and started eating my nachos. They were amazing! Way better than the school lunch at my other school at least. I looked around the cafeteria at all of the people talking and laughing. I swear I didn't see anyone else eating by themselves, everyone had someone to talk to. If I were in my old school I'd be talking and laughing with my friends, but I'm not so I'm sitting all alone in this huge cafeteria eating my nachos. I finished my lunch and pulled out my notebook and pen. I always wrote stories when I had nothing to do. I looked around one last time at the people in the cafeteria and started writing. I didn't notice Mason sitting alone at the very edge of the left side of the cafeteria, looking at me.
Whoops sorry I cut it off by accident! Here's the rest: ______________________________ I wrote a few pages of my story and then the bell rang. I put my stuff away and went to 4th period, which was Nutrition and Wellness. It was to the right of the cafeteria and a straight walk down the hallway. I walked into the class and saw Mason sitting at a table by himself. 'What, does he have EVERY class with me?' I thought. I decided to sit next to him, since he was the only person I was a tiny bit familiar with. The rest of the class came in and sat down. It was 4-5 people at a table, and all the tables were completely full. Well, ALMOST all the tables were full. Ours was empty except for me and Mason. I heard people whispering and giggling at the table next to us. I focused on what they were saying. They were talking about Mason. They were saying he was gay and stuff just because he was the only boy in this class. 'That's so mean!' I thought angrily. Mason heard them and his face turned red and he looked sad. For some reason, I didn't feel scared to talk to him. I was going to say something to him but I didn't want the girls to hear me, so I decided to write a note instead. I wrote on the paper and slid it nonchalantly to his side of the table. He read it. This is what it said: "Hey, Mason right? Don't listen to anything that these preppy blonde barbie girls say. They don't know what they're talking about. If anything you should be lucky to be in a class full of girls. Any guy would kill to be you right now. Just ignore them " He laughs quietly and writes back. He gives me a really cute smile and passes me the paper. I give him my best smile and read the note: "Yeah I'm Mason. Thanks, I'll try and ignore them and preppy blonde barbie girls? LOL that's hilarious! I've never heard that before. You're pretty funny. Jasmine right?" I smile again and write. I look at him and pass the note back. He reads it: "lol thanks yeah it's Jazmine but with a Z instead of an S. And btw I love your name, Mason. It's a nice name." He writes back and I read: "thanks, I love your name too. It's so pretty and I like how it's spelled a little differently." I smile at him. Suddenly someone snatches the note out of my hand. I look up and the teacher is glaring at me and Mason. "Hmm. What do we have here? A little note? Maybe the whole class would like to hear it?" the teacher says smiling. The whole class says yes at the same time. Of course they wanted to hear it. It was gossip for them. "No! Please don't read that out loud it will never happen again I promise!" Mason says. The teacher laughs. "I know it won't, not after I read this out loud." she says and gets ready to read the note. 'Oh no please, please don't read it!' I thought, praying that she won't read it. She opens her mouth. 'Oh no! >.<' I thought.
The teacher looks at me one last time, noticing the pleading look on my face. She sighs. "Fine, this is the only time I'll let you get away with it. It is only the first day of school. But from here on out, if I catch anyone else passing notes during my class, I WILL read them out loud and you will get a detention. Do I make myself clear?" the teacher asks, looking around the room at everyone. Everyone nods their heads. She hands me the note. "Put this away." she said and walked away. I put the date on it and then put the note in my backpack to keep. I looked around the room. Some of the girls were mad that the teacher didn't read the note out loud and gave me dirty looks. I just ignored them and tried to focus on the teacher. "Ok class, make sure that the seat you're in and the people your next to are the people you want to be in your group. There's no switching after today. The seat you're in will be your seat for the rest of the semester. If you don't like your seat or the people you're next to then I suggest you move now." she says. Nobody moves. "Ok then let's get started." she walks to the front of the room and starts explaining the class and everything we're gonna be doing. 'It seems like we're gonna be doing more classwork than actually cooking' I thought. She passes out paperwork for our parents to sign and then the bell rang. 'Thank god! I need to get out of here! The looks from these girls were actually killing me!' I grabbed my stuff and walked out the door. Next class: Spanish 3 upstairs. I hurried up the ramp and into the Spanish classroom. 'the day's almost over, just one more class after this.' I thought happily. ______________________________ Sorry it's such a short update >.< I'll have a better one tomorrow!
