As an example: as at 2011 the world health organisation is reporting suicide rates in the USA of 17.7/100,000 in males and 4.5/100,000 population. Compare this to cancer (latest figures 2007) with 125.7/100,000 in males and 91.8/1000,000 in females. Even then We're talking all age suicides, not kids alone. When a death is recorded by suicide
Stupid forum then the details of death is examined and annual reports are put together for local health authorities (at least in the UK) that then work on suicide prevention strategies
Did you read what I said? That's across the whole USA and the whole age spectrum. And if you don't consider 4.5/100,000 low then you have no isea
I've been cyber bullied once. I just totally ignored it, which some kids SHOULD do. Who cares if they say something bad about you on an app. It's just a game and it shouldn't make you want to kill yourself. Trust me, I've had suicidal thoughts, but not because someone called me a bitch. So just ignore what people say to you, it's just a game, they probably don't even know you in real life.
I agree with jada I personally think kids should toughen up if they were born in the 1920s everyone would be speaking German
Jada has a point, but what if someone does ignore it, and it continues to happen over and over again. After a while they can decide that enough is enough. No one knows where the other person's "breaking point" is, and they could say something that really gets to them. So what if it's still a game, words hurt, and it upsets people all the same. I can only ignore it for a while before it just gets annoying and pisses me off. Sometimes someone will say something that I will take to heart even though I try so hard not to believe it. Not everyone can keep ignoring it, and age doesn't really matter because some people I know who are over the age of 17, can only take so much before they snap. In fact, I think that everyone can only ignore the insults and ridicule until they reach the point where they just cant handle it anymore. Either way, I do agree they shouldn't get all suicidal over it.
I agree with Jada. And like what Pumpkin said, we don't know where their breaking point is. We don't know that maybe they are having problems in real life and when they come on PiMD, something inside them just breaks? That's the thing with this game. We don't know their stories. ...and I'm pretty sure that suicide ins' the highest. But I'm also pretty sure the number of ATTEMPTS of suicide is high. And like I said before, Don't play the game if you can't take the heat.
