What happened? Where was I? Something tickled my palm. It was flat down on the… grass? The last thing I could remember was that I had fallen through the mirror. Bright rays of sun warmed my face. I slowly fluttered my eyelids, cracking them open. All I could see was sunlight. Sighing in confusion, I rolled onto my side and peered at my surroundings. It looked like a normal forest, but something felt amiss. Lush emerald grass surrounded majestic oak trees. Clumps of daisies were scattered cheerfully around. It all felt… too perfect. Too flawless. A bubbling sound faintly reached my ears. Following the sound, I soon came to a gurgling brook. A towering weeping willow dipped its leafy branches in the crystal clear water. The sunlight that penetrated through the thick canopy created dappled shadows on the sandy bank. I trudged along the creek, soon coming to the willow tree. A girl lay beneath it, her cerulean hair fanned out around her and a serene expression on her rounded, pixie-like face. She wore a simple but elegant indigo dress, with a sash the same color as her hair. Her bare feet dipped in the water. As I looked closer, I realized with a start that she had pointed ears. What was this place? I backed up, my foot accidentally nudging a rock. Her eyelids flew open, revealing a pair of violet eyes much brighter and more intense than mine. "Oh, I'm sorry! I must have dozed off for a bit! I'm Sky! What's your name? Which clan are you from?" I was taken aback by her abrupt awakening and immense cheerfulness. "I… I'm Sammi. And… clan? There's a circle of land in the middle, and the area surrounding it is separated into four equal parts. Each part is a kingdom, ruled by a leader. The clans in the kingdoms are the fire, river, forest and storm clans. The kingdom in the middle is the Creature Clan, and is also home to all the markets and trading that goes on here. In the center of the Creature Kingdom is a huge castle, where the leader of all five kingdoms, Madame Bennett, lives. I'm from the River Clan, daughter of the chief. I'm next in line to rule." "So we're in the River Kingdom now?" As Sky nodded in confirmation, I continued. "Are there animals around the other kingdoms too, or just the creature kingdom? And do you think Madame Bennett can help me get back to my world? And you're wearing all blue. Does that have anything to do with your clan?" "Yes. There are a few animals around the other kingdoms, just like there are storms, forests and fires here, and rivers in the other kingdoms. The kingdoms just have a lot more of their object. And Madame Bennett is very wise. She could probably help you. As for your last question, there are three colors for each clan. The River Clan is blue, indigo and violet, the Fire is red, orange and yellow, the Forest is lime green, dark green and brown, and the Storm Clan is white, gold and silver. There hasn't been a member of the Creature Clan since ancient times, so no one knows what color they are. Probably all the colors." "Okay, and where is this Creature Kingdom?" Sky pointed off into the distance. I could see a small pointed shape off in the horizon. "Please don't tell me that's the castle," I groaned. "Don't worry, I'll come with you! I know a few shortcuts!" Sky offered cheerfully. "This will only be my second time going!" "And I hope this is my last," I grumbled. Sky tossed her cyan blue hair impatiently. "What are you waiting for? Come on!" I quickly fell into step behind her, trudging towards the castle and grumbling. "This is going to take a while."
