  3. I pulled the keys to what I thought was the old car I got from the lady but when I pressed the unlock button the corvette was the one that unlocked.

"Looks like I'm taking the corvette," I said climbing into the front seat and turning the key. I sat and listened to the soft purr of the engine only for a few seconds before I knew where I was going. I guess it was mother's instincts.

I think I drove for two days straight before I had to stop for the night.

When I woke up I went to the store in this small town and bought three thermoses and filled them with coffee from the breakfast area. Then I filled a cup and ate ask quickly as I could. Then I was on the road again.

I drove for another day before I got to where I need to be.

    The warehouse in New Mexico.

I parked my car and emptied the backpack of everything besides my pistol, a water, and a first aid kit.

I swear to god if my son was hurt or worse, dead, I would make Darker and all the demons in that warehouse suffer long and painful deaths.

I ran over to the door that was facing the old lady's house and looked inside the door that was still busted open, holding my gun so I was ready to shoot when needed.

All clear. I stepped inside and cringed when my book made the click noise that my boots make when I move and ran down half way down the hall when I heard his little screams and pleas for help.

    And boy was I angry.

  8. I ran down the hall and burst threw the doors and my first target was the demon in front of my son so I whipped a throwing knife at the back of it's head and watched it fall backwards.

I lifted it's head up and pulled out my knife and ran over to my son and cut the ropes that were holding him to the same blood stained chair I was in five years ago.

"Mommy!" Shouted Kyle with joy. He jumped down from the chair and ran and hugged me and I gave him the water and hid him in the corner. I put a finger to my lips and he automatically knew what that meant, thank god.

I washed away and drew my knife and killed the demon sleeping in the corner. Then I noticed a room as I pulled the knife from the demon's body. I curiously walked over to the room and opened the door very quietly and found Darker sleeping on a bed.

She was growing weaker. So I drew my gun and just because I wanted to make sure this witch was dead, I shot her five times in the head. And just because I was mad I stabbed her five times in the heart.

And then I noticed a necklace that looked like tge one she made me wear. I snatched it off her neck and put it in my back pocket.

I walked out of the room and walked over to where Kyle was hiding.

"Come on." I said, holding my arms out for him to come here so I could carry him. I wasn't going to lose him again.

I carried him half way down the hall when he started crying and pointing at a demon coming directly at us.

"Cover your ears." I told him to do while I aimed the gun at the demon. It took three shots to kill it.

I ran down the rest of the hall now. Anxious to get out and get Kyle home.

When I ran out the door I quickly took my keys and unlocked the car, still running to it. I opened the back door and buckled in Kyle then climbed in the front after shutting his door.

I started the car and Imidiatly stepped on the gas and drove over to the old womans house. I remembered seeing dynamite in her kitchen.

I was going to blow the warehouse up.

  14. "Mommy will be right back." I said, getting out of the car.

I ran up to the porch and stepped over the skeleton that lay in the doorway on the ground where I had killed the lady.

The thought sent a shiver down my spine.

Focus, get the dynamite, Tess. I thought, running into the kitchen.

So many drawers! I pulled three open and dumped their contents on the floor. No luck.

    Three more drawers. No luck.

Three more. Bingo. Two sticks of dynamite rolled off the pile of junk and I grabbed them and was thankful that the pack of matches was taped to the dynamite.

I stuffed the dynamite into my pocket and ran out the door and into the car that I had left running and floored it back over to the warehouse.

I lit the first stick and threw it down the hall then lit the second one and threw it on the roof.

I sat tgere for a second, satisfied with my idea, then realized I was being stupid and ran back into the car and floored it to 160 mph.

I was probably about a mile and a half away when the ware house exploded. I looked in my rearview mirror and smiled.

That's one place that I'll never see again.

I looked in the back seat at Kyle and saw how he was already asleep. Car rides were like sleeping pills for him.

I kept driving until night when I pulled into a hotel for the night.

I shut off the car and got out then went and got Kyle out and grabbed everything and dumped it into the backpack and zipped it shut, throwing it on my shoulder.
