    Chapter 25

    After that and I went to sleep, I got up early and made breakfast. I made eggs, sunny side up, cereal, orange juice, and toast. I put it on a tray and carried it to his room.
    I opened his door slowly and quietly. I walked up to him and placed the tray on his bedside table.
    "Dustin," I called quietly. "Dustin."
    "What?" he groaned, covering his eyes.
    "Wake up, love. Breakfast," I whispered.
    "Breakfast?" he asked sitting up slowly.
    "Yep!" I smiled and grabbed the tray.
    Dustin opened his eyes and smiled when he saw me. He sat up fully and yawned.
    "Morning, lovely," he called. I sat the tray on his lap and kissed the top of his head. He smiled and started eating. I sat beside him as he ate, waiting for him to finish.
    Once he did, I grabbed the tray and started for the door.
    "Marie," he said.
    "Da?" I asked as I turned.
    "Never mind," he said and waved me off. I shrugged and walked out of the maroon room. I put the dishes in the sink and cleaned. I finished and walked up to my bathroom. I walked in and took a shower. I got out minutes later and went to my room and got dressed. I wore green and grabbed a green purse.
    I walked out of my room and walked down the stairs to see Dustin ready to go. He was dressed in a casual t-shirt and jeans with tennis shoes.
    "Ready?" he asked, smiling.
    "Yeah! Let's go!" I said, grabbing my keys.
    "You're driving?" he asked.
    "I am obviously the better driver. You almost killed yourself by just looking at me for a split second. So, yes," I smiled. Dustin just shook his head and took my hand. We walked out of the door and headed for my lime green Porsche. We got in and I started the car. I headed to the fair, eyes trained on the road. It was a long, peaceful ride. We rode in silence, enjoying the quiet.
    Once we arrived, I became excited. I hadn't been to a fair since I was a child and it reminded me of how much I had missed. I parked and got out, overexcited.
    "Calm down!" Dustin chuckled.
    "I can't help it! It's been so long since I've been to a fair! All my dates were at fancy restaurants, movies, the beach, anything but this!" I exclaimed. "Even family things, not anything like this."
    Dustin just laughed and put an arm around my shoulders. I put an arm around his waist and we headed to the fair. I paid for the paper wrist bands that let you ride all the rides. They were so damn expensive for a strip of paper!
    "Hmm..." Dustin said, "what to do first...?"
    I looked around and saw the ferris wheel. God, I hadn't been on one in ages!
    "Oh, look, a ferris wheel!" I exclaimed giddily. "And the ring toss, balloon pop, and the tea cups!" I was clapping like a small child, jumping up and down with excitement.
    "What do you want to do first?" Dustin chuckled.
    "I don't know! There is so much to do!" I said, eyes jumping over every ride an game there was in my eyesight range. Then I saw it.
    "Oh my goodness! A roller coaster! Let's go let's go let's go!" I exclaimed, running off. After I ran for so long I stopped and turned to see Dustin struggling to keep up with me. I giggled and grabbed his hand, running again.
    I could hear Dustin panting but I didn't care, I was so excited. When we got in line for the roller coaster, I was still jumping in excitement.
    "Marie, calm down," Dustin smiled.
    "I can't! This is so exciting!" I squealed.
    "Have you never been to a fair?" he asked, smiling.
    "Yes, but I haven't been since I was a small child," I said.
    "Wow," Dustin said. I shrugged and waited in the long line. After a long time of waiting and watching the coaster run on the track, we finally made it to the beginning of the line. We showed the ticket collector our wrist bands and slid into a seat.
    Moments later the bars snapped into place and the coaster rose up the steep slope. I took Dustin's hand as it rose up. Once it reached the top, it shot straight down. I scream in fright and happiness. Minutes later, after loops, twists, turns, and screams from most on the ride, it stopped at the bottom.
    We got out and I felt so alive.
    "Let's go again!" I said.
    "No," Dustin replied, looking green. I nodded and took his hand as we walked away from the wonderful ride. We walked through the crowds, trying to chose what to do next.
    Then I heard, "Marie Evans!"

    Chapter 26

    I turned and saw Katelynn Mitchell. I smiles and ran at her. I gave her a hug and pulled back to look at her. She had grown the last time I saw her and her hair was a vibrant red.
    "Katelynn Mitchell? From grade school?!" I asked excitedly.
    "In the flesh and blood, hun! What are you doing here?" she asked.
    "I am here with my friend, Dustin; you remember him, right?" I asked, pointing to Dustin.
    "Oh, my lord, is it Little D?" she asked with a smile.
    "K?" he asked, also smiling. She gave him a hug and stood in front of him.
    "It's been so long, Dustin! And you and Marie?! I knew it all a long!" she exclaimed.
    "First it was Jason, remember?" I asked. "Then it was and is him." I smiled at them as they caught up. Apparently she was the CEO of her father's company now.
    "Congrats, hun, I am so proud of you!" I exclaimed and gave her another hug. She smiled at me and waved as she left. Dustin smiled at her as she left, putting an arm around me. We smiled at each other and walked toward the ferris wheel.
    After we got in a cart and it started running, I snuggled into him. He put his arm around my shoulders and held me close to him. At that moment, there became a certain bond between us.

    Chapter 27
    Five Years Later

    Dustin and I were at a restaurant celebrating our five year anniversary and the opening of my first company. All our friends and family were there, having fun along with us.
    I looked around the large room and smiled, "What an amazing turn out!"
    "I know!" Dustin and my business partner, Maria, exclaimed.
    I slipped into a conversation with Dustin's mother, talking about my future plans. Dustin patted my hand to get my attention. Then I heard the tink tink tink of silverware hitting glass. I turned to see Brian standing, smiling at everyone there.
    "Well, this was amazing turn out. I would like to congratulate the owners of M's Inc., first off," Brian smiled at Maria and I. We nodded our thanks and he kept going.
    "Secondly, I would like to thank everyone for being here for the celebration. And lastly, I would like to congratulate the lovely couple for their five year relationship!"
    I blushed slightly and Dustin smiled at him with a nod.
    "And now, I would like to give Dustin the floor." He nodded at Dustin as he sat down. Dustin stood, looking out at everyone.
    "Thank you, Brian. I would like to congratulate the owner myself, first," he smiled at us. I nodded at him to go on and he continued.
    "Secondly, I would like to thank my family an all of out friends for being here." Everyone smiled and started murmuring. After a moment, it stopped and attention was brought back to Dustin.
    "And, lastly, this is for the wonderful lady sitting next to me." I blushed lightly as Dustin got on one knee and took my hands in his.
    "Marie," he started, "we have known each other for over five years. And we have been together for five. And you seemed to have forgotten some problems from the past." He took a deep breath.
    "Marie, I love you. And I know you know that, but not everyone does. And I know you love me too. On our first date, it ended with a crash. And I protected you so you could live. I know I risked my own life just for yours. And, luckily, I pulled through. And after that is was smooth and we are here right now."
    His hands slipped from mine and he reached into his jacket pocket. He pulled out a small black box. My heartbeat accelerated, I held my breath, watching him open the box.
    "What I am trying to ask is," he started, reviling something amazing in the box.

    "Marie Nichole Evans, will you marry me?"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    He proposed! Finally, don't you think? What will Marie say?
  9. MARIA BETTER SAY YES OR I WILL
  10. Ohmygosh ahhhhh she better say yes!!
  11. The answer is coming up next!
    Chapter 28
    I put a hand over my mouth in awe. The ring was beautiful, and he was brave enough to ask me in front of everyone there. The moment seemed frozen in time as I stared at the ring. I glanced at Dustin and saw he was looking at me expectantly.
    But I was still thinking of one person through this whole process. That person was hit by a drunk driver. We were having a date that night. His like was risked at that moment. He was going to propose to me. It would have been our five year relationship anniversary. His name was Dustin. And here he was, proposing to me on our five year anniversary.
    I moved my hand from my mouth and placed it on my heart. I felt tears brimming my eyes, wanting to stream down my cheeks. I smiled at Dustin and nodded as I said, "Yes."
    His eyes lit up and he smiled at me. I heard everyone cheer as he kissed me and slipped the ring on my finger. I smiled at him and hugged him happily.
    "You have no idea how long I've wanted to ask that," he whispered.
    "You have no idea how long I have wanted you to ask that," I whispered back.
    He pulled back and smiled at me. He kissed me again and took my hand in his. What a wonderful party.
