  1. I felt my little sister cower under my arms that were protectively surrounding her. She was crying as I watched the shadow move closer to us. "Blood must flow before life goes on." it said in a whispery voice. I stared at my sister, who I knew was slowly dying, then I looked up at the shadow. I couldn't watch her die, as we both had with mom and dad. I pulled my arms from around her and stood up. "No!" she cried as I took a step towards the shadow. I crouched in front of her cowering body, "I'm going to make you better, kitten." I said, calling her by what mom used to call her. She sobbed and I wiped away the tears, then I took off the necklace that I have worn since our parents died from the car crash that both my sister and I have miraculously survived, and put it around her, the small crystal bounced around her neck and I stood up and walked up to the shadow. I felt a tear slide down my face as it lifted its hand, I took it and shut my eyes, hearing the noises of pain I made as it started stealing my life. I opened my eyes to look at my sister, whom I had sacrificed my life for, one more time before my eyes became unseeing and I felt myself drop before I spun into darkness.

  3. I bolted upright in bed, sobbing, my hand clutching my sisters necklace. It has been 2 years since she died for me. I looked around, my eyes trying to adjust in the early light. I look at the time and groaned, then flung myself back against the bed. The dreams started to fog my mind. They were the same as always. Me being chased from the Shadows, tripping while they reached out with their hands drenched in blood. My blood. The phone snapped me out of my daze and I blindly reached out, my head in my pillow as I answered it. "What do you want?" I ask, not caring who it was or what they wanted. "it's me." said a familiar voice on the other line. I sat up, alarmed. "What's wrong?" I asked. "they found you. The shadows found you, Amy." Will said on the other line. A smile played on my lips as I reached under my pillow and took out my knife. "thanks for the heads up, Will." I said into the phone before I hung up. I gently touched my knifes sharp edge with my finger and saw the blood start pooling around the blade. "Finally, I was getting bored of waiting." I said with a smile that was less than sane as I licked the blood off my badly cut finger. I frowned a bit, thinking of what Emma would have thought, seeing me this way. Then I started laughing. It seemed everyday I was getting more and more insane.

  7. I stared at the now empty room. The heavy bags i was holding weighing me down as I turn my back on the room I have spent the years in since my sister died. I couldn't stay over at her place, it would have made me even more insane then I already was. I have been working filth jobs just to get this small, unkempt room. And have been shoplifting just enough food so no one would notice it gone and I wouldn't starve. I was now going to stay at my best friend Wills place. I drag my bags down to the elevator and pushed the button. Nothing happened. "damn, the stairs it is then." I mutter and slowly drag my bags down the stairs. At the bottom I kneeled over, panting from the 20 flights of stairs I had to go down, while dragging a 80 pound bag.
Then I felt the hand grasp my shoulder. I instinctively grabbed it, bent over and threw the person, or thing over my shoulder. "ouch! God Amy, id hate to see the poor man that try's to mug you if that's how you treat your best friend." Will complained, slowly getting up. He groaned and ran his hand through his thick black hair, his blue eyes narrowing at me. I shrugged an apology and dragged my bag past him, ignoring his offers of help. When a taxi finally stopped at our waving I started to put my bag in the trunk when a shiver went down my neck. I look behind my shoulder just in time to see a shadow escape into an alley. "hold this." I mumbled as I passed the bag over to Will, then sprinted towards the alley, Hearing both Will and the taxi driver both yell at me. I kept moving, faster to the alley I knew the creature went in. As I turn the corner I pull out my knife.
