I knew I had to keep running. If I didn't It would catch me. If It caught me... I wouldn't last a second. I'd be dead in an instant. I couldn't and I wouldn't let It catch me. I ran as fast as my little 13 year old legs could carry me through the dark forest... Hoping I could get away. This was my life. I was always running away from It. The same It that killed my parents. I think. So was my friend Derek. But Derek was away from me now. I couldn't find him. My heart skipped a couple beats as I tripped over a large rock and fell onto my stomach. It would certainly catch me now. An unbearable pain rushed through me as I stood up, and I knew right behind me was It. It was hairy and had light blue eyes. It looked like a wolf mixed with a human. It was a werewolf. I knew this of course, but I'd never seen It up close. The werewolf jumped back and looked up at the sky, which was now getting lighter as it neared morning. It fell to the ground and changed into human form. To see that was horrifying yet very cool. I started to shake... even if it didn't have it's claws and teeth... now that It had me, what would It do with me? The human form was clothed with dark jeans and a white t-shirt. I saw he had stunning blue eyes as he stood up, and he was tall. Much, much taller than me. He looked about 6 foot 1 inch or so. Which was extremely tall to me since I was only 5 foot 1 inch. "Sorry, pretty girl." I began to shake again as he walked toward me. He slapped me across the face, grabbed my arm, and threw me over his shoulder. I pounded on his back screeching and shouting for him to put me down but he didn't stop. He carried me for about 20 minutes and he finally let me down. Just to pin me to the ground and tie me with rope. My hands were tied around my back. He then wrapped rope around my waist which made me attached to the tree in the middle of an open space. My brown side bangs had come loose from the clip and were now hanging in front of my face. "Allow me to help you." The young man took the strands of hair and carefully placed them behind my ears. I felt my face grow hot. His face was inches from mine. His eyes. They were the same ones I saw the night my parents died. He was the one that killed them. I tear slid down my face. "You killed them. You killed my parents." "I did." he said calmly. "How can you say that as if it were nothing!?" He shrugged and backed away from me. His not so sparkly anymore eyes wandered to the floor. "I'm Nick." "Cassi." He looked up at me innocently and I realized he was extremely handsome. But who could dare crush on a guy that killed her parents? "Now that I have you, I don't want to hurt you." "So don't. Please." "He's here. Be quiet and don't move." I obeyed Nick and shut my mouth. Another tall man entered. He had dark brown eyes and he had an African accent when he talked. "You've caught her. Well done Nick. You've caused us a great deal of trouble ." I looked at him confused and he laughed. "Well your parents did. So what did they tell you kid?" "I don't know anything..." I shook my head vigorously. "They didn't tell me anything." "Don't lie to me girl." He took a step towards me. "I know they did." I had no idea what he was talking about. But I had to tell him something. "Maybe if I tell them I know a secret and then refuse to tell them that'll work!" I thought to myself. "I know your secret." Nick's head shot up from the ground and looked at me in the eyes from behind the man shaking his head slowly. "I knew it." The man whispered. I managed a weak smile. He turned sharply and walked away. Nick walked back to me and started to speak. "Why would you tell him that?" "I thought it would get him off my back about lying. Why do you care?" "Because I'm starting to wonder why I took this job." "So?" "So... I should help you." "I'm not letting the guy who killed my parents help me." As much as I wanted to... it'd be a disgrace to my family. "Please. Let me help you. I know things you don't." "I don't need your help." "Oh really?!" I nodded my head. He took a large knife from his pocket and cut off my ropes. "I'm offering you my help. Take it." I nodded my head and let him hand me the knife. "I promise to protect you. You can trust me." -------------------------------------------- I'm not done with this story... Tell me if you like it so far... I hope you do
I'm not sure if it was a mistake that I had followed Nick into the forest or not. But I told him I trusted him and he said he trusted me. There was no way I was going to let myself fall for him. His perfect blue eyes, his beautiful dark brown hair, or his sparkly white teeth. "It's getting dark. We have to find a city nearby." He said quietly. "I know." We walked in silence for a while. After about 45 minutes of silence we found a city. Seattle, Washington. "Here we are. I'm tired, hungry, cold, and ready." Nick turned and looked at me with a smile. "Hotel?" "Do you have money?" "'Course! Let's go." we walked from the end of the woods to the nearest Marriott hotel. The lobby was beautifully decorated with plants, chandeliers, paintings, and to top it all off... A little white fountain directly in the middle. I sat on a small red couch while Nick was up at the front desk, I flipped open my out-dated cell phone and looked for messages. There was one. From Derek. It was a voicemail. "Cassi? Where are you?! I wish we weren't seperated... call me... anytime. Please." He sounded like he was in trouble. But I, I was more of a loner myself. I thought that independence was key, and if you wanted a job done... you should do it yourself! Nick walked back with two white keys in his hand. We took the elevator to our room which was on the top floor. Floor 6. In the room there were two beds, a blue couch, a TV, a bathroom, and a little mini kitchen. How long would we be here? Why would we need a kitchen? I took the bed closest to the window, and for awhile I stared out in the distance, looking at the moon. It was only a half moon. In a couple days... there'd be a full moon. Hopefully Nick could control his power. I finally drifted to sleep but only to find myself getting caught in a swarm of nightmares! I sat in a wooden chair in a dark room. There was only one little window and through it shined the beautiful full moon. I was so mesmerized by how amazingly beautiful it looked I didn't even hear the continuous growls from the opposite end of the room. Right below the window. I heard tearing and growling and loud whispers... then I saw red eyes. The creature crept toward me and inches away from me was the horrifying face of a werewolf. I screamed in terror Thinking maybe if I screamed loud enough someone would come and Save me. But I had heard not a single thing but the echoes of my scream and the terrifying sound of the werewolf's breathing pattern.
Wow Angel you should definitely take some writing classes in school, your amazing you could write as your career!
"Cassi! Cassi, wake up!" Nick shouted repeatedly. I blinked a couple times until my eyes adjusted to the lighting. Above me was the worry filled face of Nick. My head turned to the window. It was pitch black out, still. "What's wrong?" I asked. "You were screaming in your sleep. I tried waking you up but you kept sweating and screaming." His blue eyes met mine. "It really worried me. I thought maybe you'd gotten bit and you were changing into a werewolf." I had gotten bitten... a couple months ago. But we had put a lot of the right medicines on it right away so it wouldn't change me. But maybe it had just delayed the change... "Cassi? What are you thinking about?" "I've gotten bitten before." "By who!?" "It was a really big grey werewolf with dark red eyes." I tried to remember that moment... but instead I realized something else, "It was the same werewolf that was in my nightmare!" Nick's eyes grew wide as he said what I guessed was the wolf's name. "Tyler. That's the wolf that bit you. Dammit! Are you sure? Did he have a long scratch right by his left eye?" I nodded my head very slowly. Nick got up and left the hotel room. I had no idea where he was going, but he'd be back in the morning. I wasn't positive, but I was sure he wouldn't take off. I turned off the little lamp on the nightstand, and I rested my head back on the pillow and moved the covers to my chin. I felt like a little girl. Scared and shaking.
