---------------- Marigold's POV I steal a sideways glance at Diamonde. What I see instantly makes me burst out laughing. Her mouth is hanging open with wonder, her eyes gleaming, her arms floppy at her side. She glares at me. "What are you laughing at?!" she hisses. "Um, you? You should have seen your face just then!" I reply, between giggles. She hits me lightly on the arm, smiling. I gasp. "I nearly forgot! Hand me your Spring charm." Diamonde hands her charm to me, a puzzled look on her face. The beautiful silver necklace sparkles in the golden sunlight, engraved with leaves and flowers, the pale lime gem glinting. I close my eyes, and wave my hand over the charm. The gem glows brightly, and turns a few times, the intricate carvings glowing. I open my eyes again, smiling. "Turn around Diamonde." I carefully undo the latch, and place it around her neck, and fasten it again.
Marigold's POV I added a golden aura, as known as happiness to Diamonde's charm. That must explain why she's smiling so brightly. Suddenly, a Winter fairy, Cristie, comes in with a guilty look on her face. "Marigold, report to the Director right away."
I walked into the Director's office, puzzled. Annabella Violanda never calls me, only rarely. "Ah, Marigold. I've been expecting you. Sit. " She pointed at the seat in front of her wooden table, and I sat down cautiously. Annabella clicked her perfectly manicured nails against the table. "I need you to go on a mission." "But who would take over my current mission?" I asked her anxiously. "I do not know. I'll leave Diamonde in Autumn's capable hands. I'll let her mentor teach her, and a tutor to help her." Annabella said smoothly. "Fine then. What is it about?" I sighed, defeated. "You know my sister, Anita? She's planning on getting the rarest flower on Earth. And guess what? She wants to kill her daughter. In order to get her looks. " Annabella narrowed her eyes. "I'm counting on you. " The unspoken words hovered in the air. What she had meant to say was.. You must come back alive. If you don't, you'll be a mere flower. Do you want that? I slowly shook my head. Annabella smiled, satisfied. "Now darling, get some rest. You will go in the morning." What else could I do? I ran to my dorm. Did I mention my school director was scary?
