Garrett's point of view: I couldn't believe it. My brother was ****ing cutting himself along with drinking and smoking. I walked upstairs and knocked on his door,"Peyt man open up." Peyton's hoarse voice came through,"Go the ****ing **** away." I sighed and went to my room and found a paperclip. I went back to his door and picked his lock. You learn a lot just by watching tv. I opened the door and walked in and shut the door and saw blood. I went to Peyton,"Dude what the ****ing ****?!?!?!" Peyton grimaced and whispered,"I had to. It hurts so bad being without Kate. This is the only thing that makes me feel better." I walked out of his room and got a rag and put warm to almost hot water on it and came back,"Here. Put this on those cuts and hold it and don't ****ing whine." He took it and winced when it touched the cuts,"Why are you doing this Garrett." I looked at him,"Because. You're my brother. You've protected me all my life and now it's my turn to protect you."
Peyton's point of view: Garrett stayed with me until the bleeding stopped and I doctored my wounds up and put on a different shirt. It doesn't matter if I wore longsleeve now since my family saw the cuts. I finished packing up my things and walked down stairs. God I was in so much pain. I walked outside to the vehicle and started loading up everything. After I loaded up the last thing I reached up under my shirt and wiped the cuts and drew my hand back and saw more blood. ****ing great. I went back inside and cleaned off my cuts and put two of those huge ace bandages on it. I went back to my room and changed shirts and went back outside and got in the vehicle since the rest of my family was waiting for me. *~*~*~*10 hours later*~*~*~* I don't know if I had fallen asleep but when I woke up all I saw was a huge sign: WELCOME TO PHILADELPHIA, MISSISSIPPI I sighed. Hopefully this week wouldn't be so bad. Right?
Kate's point of view: It was finally spring break and I had nothing to do. Peyton and I were supposed to be together the whole spring break before he moved and before I broke up with him. I wasn't complaining though. I had my friends to keep my mind off Peyton and Julie was gonna see if this guy I was starting to like liked me back. I still loved Peyton but it was time to move on and face the fact that he was too far away to have a relationship with. I decided to go jogging with Julie, Chase, Austin, Cory, and Colby. These were true friends that I knew could help me through this. We were all jogging but Austin, Chase, Colby, and Cory started doing stupid stuff so we had to slow down to a walk so Julie and I could laugh at them for being idiots. We rounded the bend by the batting cages and we saw two guys. Both were about 6 feet tall. The guy that was batting had his shirt off and you could tell he was sweating but the strange thing is is that he had scars up and down his arms and sides and everytime he turned to where his stomach faced us you could see a name. The strangest thing about it was that it was my name...
Peyton's point of view: We arrived at the house that we used to live in and I grabbed my stuff and went straight to my room. I put my things up and went to the bathroom and gently took the bandages off my stomach. I looked down at the cuts and grimaced and mumbled,"That was probably the stupidest thing I ever did." Just then Garrett's voice said,"Ya think Sherlock." I jumped and almost punched him in his face,"Dude seriously don't you ever knock?!" He looked at me for a minute with a mock serious look and said,"Nah. I find it beneath me to knock and besides it's much more fun to annoy people." I rolled my eyes,"Just hand me a ****ing rag." He handed me a rag and said,"You wanna go to the batting cages?" I nodded as I finished cleaning up the cuts and said,"Yeah let me just put on a Neshoba baseball shirt." Garrett rolled his eyes,"Dude I'm sure people will remember you since you went to Neshoba." I waved him off and changed shirts and went downstairs and to the garage and got all the baseballs and a couple bats and turned to Garrett and threw one to him,"Let's go." Garrett drove us to the batting cages and he started us off on it so I could rest a bit before it was my turn. He finally finished batting and said,"Alright man you're up." I got in position and I hit every ball that came. We played for an hour and I decided to take my shirt off cause it was so **** hot. I lifted my helmet off and ran my hands through my hair,"**** it's ****ing hot out here." Garrett nodded. We were both sweating but I was sweating more. I took my shirt off and I felt the sweat hit those fresh cuts and I winced. **** this hurts. I put my shirt on the ground and put my helmet back on and kept swinging. I kept on for 30 more minutes and I could see people walking around the batting cages and they looked...familiar. One of the girls was looking at me which made the other girl look. I couldn't tell who it was which made me mad and about the time that I turned back a ball hit me in my arm. I took my helmet off,"God **** that ****ing **** hurt." I turned back to where the people were and the girl that was looking at me had stopped. Then she started walking towards me. Then she started jogging. When she got close enough she yelled,"PEYTON!!"
Kate's point of view: I kept looking at that guy. He looked so much like Peyton. I watched as he got hit in the arm and when he took his helmet off I knew it was Peyton. I just stood there and stared. It was Peyton. My Peyton. When he turned back to get his helmet off the ground I started walking to him. He noticed because he stood back up and just looked at me. I started jogging then and I finally got close enough and shouted,"PEYTON!!" I could see his eyes as they widened a little bit and he dropped his helmet and threw open the gate and ran to me. As soon as his arms wrapped around me he picked me up and hugged me. He held me for what seemed like forever. He finally put me down and I saw what looked like tears in his eyes. I was about to say something when he gently grabbed my chin and pulled my head up and at that moment he kissed me and everything felt like it should. My hand brushed against his stomach and he drew back from me in pain. I looked at him and I could see pain in his eyes. By that time Garrett had made his way with Peyton's shirt and handed it to him but before Peyton had a chance to put his shirt I said,"Peyton what are all these scars from and why is my name on your stomach?"
Peyton's point of view: Shit. ****. Fuck. I looked at Kate who was looking at the scars. There was no way I could lie to her now. Shit. She's probably gonna bitch to me about it if I tell her but I have to tell her. I have to get it over with. I sighed and said,"I started drinking and smoking right after we broke up to try to take the pain away and it worked for about a week but after that it just got worse and I got extremely depressed so I would just shut my door and play my guitar and that worked for about two weeks and when that failed to help my pain I started cutting myself to take my pain away from not being with you." The look on her face was horrified. It hurt me to see that look on her face. She looked down at where I had carved her name in my stomach and said,"Well when did this happen?!" I sighed,"It happened early this morning." She inhaled sharply and I felt her hand tighten into a fist. I looked up and saw Chase, Colby, Cory, Austin, and Julie standing there. Their expressions were exactly like Kate's. I pushed Kate away a bit,"Look Kate I'm fine. Ok? Don't worry about me." She shook her head,"Peyton this is probably the most stupid thing you have ever done. How could you cut yourself? What? Were you trying to ****ing kill yourself?!" I don't know what happened. I don't know if it was the fact that Kate of all people was *****ing at me but I snapped. I glared at Kate,"What the ****ing **** gives you the right to ****ing bitch to me about what I ****ing do to my god **** self?!?!" She stared at me completely shocked and I just turned away from her and went back to the batting cage and grabbed up the rest of my stuff and Garrett and I left Kate, Julie, Colby, Cory, Chase, and Austin standing there like WTF just happened.
Peyton's point of view: I couldn't believe I snapped on Kate like that. Why would I do that to Kate? I loved Kate right? Gah this is so confusing. I decided to call Logan but after 4 tries and still no answer I gave up. I put my phone down and went to my laptop and looked at my pictures. All of my pictures were of me and Kate and we looked happy. **** why couldn't we have that now?! I needed to talk to someone about this. I grabbed my phone and text Keeley: Hey Keels. Um do you know where Logan is and if you don't then it's fine I was just trying to talk to him. RINGRINGRING I picked up my phone,"Hey Keeley." Keeley sighed,"Hey Peyt." I waited a bit and asked,"You ok Keels?" She was quiet and then said,"Yeah. Logan's just drunk....again." I laughed and said,"Make a pot of coffee and don't add anything to it and make him drink the coffee and then give him an aspirin and make him go to sleep. He'll be a little better by morning." She laughed a little,"Alright Peyton thanks. Why did you want to talk to Logan?" I sighed,"I saw Kate today." She gasped,"Peyton that's great!" I didn't say anything and she said,"It is great isn't it?" I sighed again,"No it's not. I accidentally snapped on her. I don't know why I did. I guess it's just that I was tired of people *****ing to me about my feelings and that I was cutting myself." I heard her inhale sharply and i realized that she didn't know about me cutting myself. She finally said,"Peyton why did you cut yourself?!" I sighed,"Because I hated not having Kate and I couldn't take the pain of not having her. But now it's probably never gonna happen between us." Keeley was quiet and then said,"Peyton just apologize and tell her what's been going on. I'm sure she'll forgive you." I sighed,"Keeley I think I'm in love with someone else." Keeley was quiet for a minute and said,"That could be a problem. You just need to figure out your feelings for Kate and the other girl." I thought about it for a minute and said,"You're right Keeley. Thanks." She laughed a bit and said,"No problem anything to help a friend. I gotta go Peyton. I'll talk to you later. Bye." I laughed a bit and said,"Alright Keeley. Bye." I kept my phone up to my ear until I heard the click on the other line telling me that she hung up and whispered,"I love you Keeley."
Kate's point of view: What the ****?! I turned to look at Julie, Chase, Colby, Austin, and Cory,"What the **** just happened?" Colby looked at me and then at everybody else and said,"Well I think your little boyfriend or exboyfriend became a little ******bag while he was away." I hit Colby on his arm,"That's mean Colby. He's had a lot going on." Julie shook her head,"Kate there's no way you can still be in love with him after that." I nodded,"Yes I am. I'll always love Peyton." Colby looked at Austin,"What about it chicken reggs?" Austin had gotten the name chicken reggs in elementary school but no one remembers how he got it. Yeah my friends are weird but I love them. Austin looked at me and shook his head,"Kate he seemed a little too mad when you said something about those scars so he's either in love with someone else or on steroids. Or it could be both." I shook my head,"No Peyton would never take steroids." Cory spoke up,"Well Kate Peyton would never smoke or drink right? But he's doing just that. He would never cut himself but he's doing that too. Face it Kate. Peyton isn't the same Peyton we all knew. He's different now. And you better not try to see him or chicken reggs, Chase, Colby, and I will beat the **** out of Peyton." I looked at them and say,"You're not gonna beat Peyton. I need to ask him what's going on." Brianna's point of view: I heard the front door slam and I knew it was Peyton. He had been slamming doors a lot lately but this was a little too much. I walked to my door as soon as he slammed his. Great someone is in a pissy mood. I walk downstairs and see Garrett,"Hey whats wrong with Peyt?" Garrett looked at me and said,"He saw Kate today." I gasped and said,"Thats great!!!! How did it go?!?!?!" Garrett looked at me,"He cussed her out. I'm surprised he didn't call her a bitch." I look at him completely shocked,"Oh. I'm gonna go talk to him." Garrett rolled his eyes,"Good luck." I go upstairs and when I get to Peyton's door I stop. He was playing his guitar and singing. I've always loved listening to him play and sing. His voice sounded like Chris Daughtry and David Cook combined. It was awesome. He would always sing to me when I couldn't sleep or when I had a bad day. He was the best big brother in the world. I looked at her and said,"I cussed her out how do you think it went?" She sighed,"Peyton you know you love Kate. Why did you cuss her out?" I get up and put my guitar back,"I don't know I guess I was just pissed off. I do love Kate. More than anything." Brianna looked at me and said,"Then go find her and apologize." I nodded and grabbed my jacket and guitar,"I'll do better than that. I'll sing to her."
Kate's point of view: I was about to walk out of my house to go see Peyton when someone grabbed my hand. I turned around and saw Hunter,"What are you doing?!?!" Hunter got closer to me and put his head against mine and said,"We have our date tonight remember." I look at him and say,"I'm so sorry I forgot all about it." He sighs and says,"It's ok let's just go. Your mom knows where we are going so let's just go." Peyton's point of view: I drove to Kate's house but it seemed like it took forever. When I finally got there I grabbed my guitar and ran to her door and knocked. Her mom came to the door and said,"Oh Peyton I didn't expect to see you here." I faintly smile and say,"Uh yeah I was just looking for Kate." Kate's mom stared at me shocked and said,"She's at Old Mexico on a date."
Peyton's point of view: I drove home completely numbed to everything. She was on a date with some guy. How the ****did this happen?!?! I wasn't gonna lose her so easily this time. I noticed earlier that she still wore the locket I gave her and I bet she's never opened it. I grabbed my phone and called Garrett. RINGRING I heard the click and then Garrett's annoyed voice,"What do you want?" I pretend like that hurt and say,"Well then. I was just gonna ask you if you still played your bass or not." He sighed,"Yeah every now and then. Why?" I click my tongue and say,"You're gonna meet me at Old Mexico so I can sing to Kate." He waited a minute and said,"Ok. Just don't do anything stupid like an illegal u-turn." I click my tongue again and say,"Ya know it hurts knowing that you don't trust me to not do an illegal u-turn." He sighed,"No. I just know you." I roll my eyes and sigh,"Ok fine just meet me at Old Mexico." I hung up the phone and sped up a little bit and waited until there weren't any cars coming in the other lane and that the cars behind me were far behind me and I then slammed on the brakes and cut my wheels hard making my car spin into the other lane and start heading back to town. As soon as I got going again to town I yelled,"**** yeah! Better than the **** movies!" I got to Old Mexico and I waited for my brother for what seemed like forever. He finally pulled up and got out with his bass in hand and locked the door and said,"Why the **** did I need to bring my bass if you're singing to Kate?" I sigh and pick up my guitar and start walking and say,"Because I'm gonna need the bass for what I'm gonna sing to her." He was silent for a minute and said,"Alright. Fine. Just don't screw this up." I look back at him and say,"Ye of little faith. I got my swagg on an all time high." He rolled his eyes and pushed me towards the door,"Just go inside and stop acting like a ******bag." We walk in and I see Kate with what's-his-face. Frankly I could care less about his name all I knew is that he was with my girl. I walk up and clear my throat and Kate looks at me completely shocked. I smile and wink at her,"Kate I want to sing you a song." What's-his-face stood up and said,"I don't think so *******. Kate and I are on a date so back the ****ing **** off." Garrett got in between us and grabbed his bass from the neck and lifted it up like a baseball bat and said,"Listen here *******. If you don't sit your *** down I'm gonna introduce my bass to your face." I stared at my brother like WTF but to my surprise the ******bag sat down. Kate looked at me and said,"You haven't sang to me in a long time." I look at her and look down at my guitar and look at her again and say,"I know and I want to change that." She smiled and said,"Ok then sing." Please don't leave again."
Garrett's point of view: Watching Kate and Peyton was.......sweet but more sickening than sweet. I mean yeah it was obvious they loved each other and all that shit but they both knew how all this would end. I sat down in one of the booths and started strumming on my bass when the ******bag stood up. I jumped up and said,"Uh you must really want to meet my bass. Now sit your god **** mother ****ing *** down your **** *******." He looked at me like he wanted to punch me and I held my arms up and said,"Hit me *****. You won't be able to anyway because I know every single person in this room." He pushes past me and left the restaurant and I mumbled,"Wuss." I turned back to my brother and Kate and said,"How about we go back to the house? I'm sure mom and dad would like to see you back with Kate." Peyton's point of view: **** I had the greatest brother. First he threatened the guy that was trying to steal Kate away from me with his bass and then he cussed the little mother ****er out. I was holding Kate's hand as we walked back to my car to head to my house and I stopped her and said,"By the way what was written on the inside of your locket was part two or that three part present." She smiled her beautiful smile that made me so weak in the knees and got on her tiptoes and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around her and picked her up. I put her back down and pull away a little and put my forehead against hers,"I love you Kate." She looks up at me with her brown eyes and says,"I love you too Peyton. Please don't leave again." I sigh and take her hand and open the car door and help her in and shut her door. I go over to my side and crank the car and say,"You know I have to leave Saturday. Let's just make every minute count."
Kate's point of view: I spent every possible minute with Peyton. I knew he would have to go back to Georgia but I wanted him here with me. It was Friday morning. The day before Peyton had to leave to go back home. I was with Julie and I was looking for something I could give Peyton tonight before he left. Julie and I searched everywhere and still couldn't find anything. We finally went to Main Street Junction to eat so we would have a break. We ordered our food and when we got it we went to one of the tables and sat down. I looked at Julie,"I have no idea what to get Peyton. This gift is also gonna have to be a birthday present since his birthday is April 21." Julie looked at me and said,"Well there is one thing that you could give him since you and him dated for two years and never did because you two wanted to wait." I look at her like what are you talking about and Julie rolls her eyes and says,"Kate think about it. You and Peyton dated for two years. There's a three letter word that you and Peyton could do that could be his early birthday present and his going away present and he would definitely remember it." I look at her confused and Julie, completely annoyed, says,"Katherine Michelle Timmons you and Peyton should **** with each other." Peyton's point of view: It was friday night. We were leaving tomorrow and tonight was my last night to be with Kate. I wanted tonight to be special but I didn't know how the **** I was gonna do that. I had just finished getting ready so I went downstairs to get my jacket and my keys and leave when I heard mom and dad talking... I got up against the wall to where they couldn't see me and dad said,"I just found out that I'm being deployed as soon as we get back to Georgia." I heard my mom inhale sharply and say,"They can't do that can they? We've spent a week in Mississippi and they expect you to just pack up your stuff and go as soon as we get back?!" My dad sighed and said,"Yes they can do that and I know that it isn't fair to you or the kids but I have to do this. Protecting my family is one of my jobs as a husband and a father and if it means to protect everybody else then so be it. I promise you nothing will happen to me. I'll be back before you know it." My mom was quiet and in a whisper she said,"What if this time is different? What if you don't come back?"
Peyton's point of view: I walked back upstairs quietly and then came back downstairs making noise and then walked into the kitchen and grabbed my jacket and keys and said,"I'm going over to Kate's ok?" My mom looked at me and nodded and my dad said,"Alright just remember we leave in the morning." I nodded and said,"I know dad. I'll be home later tonight." He nodded and said,"Alright Peyt. Go and see her." I nodded and walked out the door and got in my car. The whole way to Kate's house I kept thinking about mom and dad's conversation and the last thing mom had said. I hated when they deployed my dad. I hated it. They would always deploy him when I was younger and I hated not having my dad around. I pulled up to Kate's house and sat in the car for a bit. What if I did lose my dad? No. I would never lose my dad. He was too tough and he loved my mom and us too much to let anything keep him away from us. He would be fine. I got out and walked to the door and knocked and turned around on the porch and waited. I was still lost in thought and didn't notice Kate open the door. She cleared her throat and said in a small voice,"Hey Peyton." I turned around and my jaw dropped. What Kate was wearing was pretty slutty. I kept staring at her with my mouth open wondering what the mother ****ing **** is she wearing?! But instead of saying that I said,"****!" She blushed and took my hand and led me inside and the whole time I was watching her and her every movement. This was NOT my Kate. We got in the living room and we sat down on the couch and watched Breaking Dawn and I had my arm around her and my eyes all over her. I heard a little voice saying 'do it Peyton do it you know you wanna **** her.' I did want to **** her but not if I was leaving tomorrow. I turned my attention to the movie and I felt a hand slide up and down my leg. My whole body tensed up. **** why was she such a ****ing turn on?! She got closer to me and I jumped up and walked away from the couch a little bit and I looked back at Kate and she had a very confused look on her face. I sighed and said,"I'm sorry Kate. I can't **** with you." She stared at me shocked and what seemed like a little relieved and said,"Why not?! Don't you want to do it with me?" I sighed and went back to her and said,"Kate you know I do but it's just not right yet. If we have sex tonight I leave tomorrow and it'll hurt both of us. Kate you know I get drunk every Friday and Saturday night. I hit on other girls when I'm drunk and I don't mean it it's just kinda funny and if we have sex tonight then there's a possibility that it'll happen with other girls when I get back to Georgia. Kate I love you and I don't want anything to ruin this." She was quiet and then she got up and went to her room. I sighed and closed my eyes. 20 minutes later someone started ruffling my hair and I opened my eyes and saw Kate dressed normally and I smiled,"Now that is the Kate that I love." She blushed and said,"I'm glad you didn't want to do it now. It's just I thought that maybe you might want that since you're leaving and I know that you said you wanted to wait until it was right but I just thought you might want to tonight before you left but I am glad you said no because I don't think I would have been ready." I smiled and put my arm around her and said,"I would never make you do something you weren't ready for. I love you too much for that." She kissed my cheek and got up and said,"Close your eyes." I sighed and closed my eyes and I heard her walk off and after waiting for about ten minutes I heard her come back and she said,"Ok. Open your eyes." I opened my eyes and saw this beautiful brand new guitar. My jaw dropped again and I looked at Kate and said,"Kate this is amazing! Thank you!" She smiled and cuddled up beside me and put her head on my shoulder and said,"You're welcome Peyton. It's your going away present and your early birthday present." I put my arm around her and kissed her,"Thank you Kate. This is great. You are the greatest girl in the world and I'm lucky to call you mine."
Kate's point of view: Peyton stayed at my house until 12 in the morning. I walked with him out to his car and he wrapped his arms around me,"I love you Kate. I don't want to leave." I looked up at him with tears starting to form in my eyes,"Then don't leave. Tell your parents you want to stay here." He shook his head,"I can't Kate. You know that." I looked at him and I could see in his eyes that he wanted to stay. I could also see that there was something bothering him,"Peyton what's wrong?" He looked at me and shook his head and mumbled,"I gotta go." I grabbed his arm,"Peyton Alexander McGee what the **** is wrong?" He sighed and turned to me his eyes so full of anger and said,"My dad is getting deployed as soon as we get back to Georgia." My eyes widened and I hugged Peyton,"I'm so sorry Peyt." He hugged me back,"It's not your fault Kate." I looked up at him,"There's something else bothering you Peyton." He stayed quiet and finally said,"I'm sorry Kate......but I think it would be best.....if we just.... Stayed friends."
Peyton's point of view: ".....if we just.....stayed friends." As soon as I had said those words I regretted them. I looked down at Kate after I had said them and she was in tears,"Why Peyton?" I sighed and held her,"Because there's no way we can work out a long distance relationship." She buried her head in my chest and cried. I hated seeing girls cry. It gave me the worst feeling in the world.....well second worst feeling. There was no way I could tell Kate the truth. Or Logan. I kissed the top of Kate's head and she backed away from me and whispered,"I love you Peyton." I smiled faintly,"I love you too Kate." She gave me a small smile and went back inside. I sighed and got in my car and drove home. When I got home I walked upstairs and changed and went to bed. ~*~*~*7hours later~*~*~* I woke up to someone pounding on my door. I sighed and said,"Go away!" I rolled back over to go back to sleep when something hit my back. I turned over and saw my brother and the soccer ball he had thrown at me. I grabbed the soccer ball and threw back at him,"****ing *******." He laughed and dodged my throw,"Mom and dad said it's time to leave. Mom packed up your stuff last night while you were out. How'd it go with Kate?" I sighed and said,"What does it matter how it went." I opened my suitcase and grabbed a shirt and put it on. Garrett sighed,"Dude come on. Something happened. Either you two broke up again or ****ed now which is it." I zipped my suitcase back up and grabbed it and started walking downstairs,"We broke up Garrett." He mumbled,"You ***hole." I sighed and just kept walking. We got outside and started putting the suitcases back in the vehicle and Garrett said,"Hey do you know why Keeley and Logan broke up?" I looked at him a little confused and Garrett sighed and said,"Logan text me and said he and Keeley broke up because he found out that she cheated on him before we left." I could feel my heart trying to beat out of my chest and the only thing I could think of was: oh ****. I finally said,"**** poor Logan." Garrett nodded and said,"Yeah but if you ask me he deserved it since he's always cheating on her." I just nodded trying to hide my worried expression.
Peyton's point of view: We pulled out of the driveway of our old house in our old neighborhood in our old town in our old state. I didn't have anyone to try to win back to me anymore and it felt......good. I loved Kate but it just wasn't right anymore. I stayed awake for 4 hours of the ride back to Georgia but I finally gave up and went to sleep.... *~*~*~*Dream*~*~*~* I was in the batting cages in Georgia when Logan came up to me. I turned and said,"Hey man I'm back." Logan just stared at me with hatred in his eyes,"It was you wasn't it." I look at him confused,"Dude what are you talking about?" He shook his head,"You were supposed to be my best friend." I put the bat down and walked to him,"Logan what are you talking about?!" He pulled out a knife and stabbed me in the stomach,"You ****ed with my girl you *******." *~*~*~*Reality*~*~*~* When I woke up I almost ****ing jumped out of my seat. Garrett looked at me,"Dude are you ok?" I nod,"Yeah. Never better." He rolled his eyes,"Whatever man. Anyway we're almost to the house." I looked out the window and saw we were back in Georgia. ****.
I'm hoping so I'm just try to get it all. I don't like starting from where I left off. It's a lot of work to put the whole story back up but its better to have it up so people can go back and read and see how Peyton changes and see how he has failed to keep promises
