King David's Pov Cruel, misunderstood creatures of the night, why must you haunt not only my dreams, not only the very edge of my every thought, and most importantly, outside my window each night. Here in the kingdom of ashes, every citizen has grown used to your presence in our community, some even has put a thick layer of trust between you. Fools. I know better, I know each and every one of you must be destroyed. And I won't rest until I have done just that. "David," A gentle voice called from behind me. I glanced back to the sound, turning away from the window I had been peering out of to my fair wife, laying in the middle of thickly wrapped sheets. "Yes my dear," Raising a careful brow at her. The moonlight casted a rich glow to shine over my beloved. "Come back to bed," She sighed, shifting to a sitting position. I took another look out the window, narrowing my eyes at the shadow, floating in a haze of black smoke around the trees, before reluctantly returning back to my queen. I stiffly took a seat beside her, watching as her delicate body curled into my side, her head now resting on my chest. I allowed my arms to circle around her, bringing her closer. I needed this, I needed to feel her here with me. It was the only thing I had left to keep me from going insane. She knew there was something bothering me, even worse she knew already what it was. "Your still worried about the engagement aren't you," She spoke quietly. I held her tighter, breathing in deeply, almost feeling feeling calmer as I breathed in her scent of sweet roses. "Yes, I've gone beyond worried my sweet," My sweet queen, my Sarah now gazed up into my eyes, capturing me with her striking hazel eyes. "Our daughter is strong, just as you are, she is clever, just as I am, and she will be fine, even with... them," Sarah said with a serious look. I didn't speak one word as I watched her. Sarah always knew how to make me feel better, she restored my hope fully, but my worries were never-ending. Lightly I leaned forward brushing my lips against hers. A sweet kiss, one that clearly told her how much I loved her, and how much Her words had comforted me, yet how it has not yet soothed the knots clenching in my stomach. Bump?
Vanessa's POV I knew I shouldn't be out here at this time of night. Not when the moon was just making a peek into the night sky. But I couldn't help it, the thick mess of trees, the bitter howling deep within the heart of the forest, just seemed to be calling to me tonight. It was my last night Of my freedom any way, if I was lucky perhaps I'll get lost in the woods, and never be found. As I stood at the edge of the lake in front of me I let out a breath. Looking down through the crystal waters I gazed at the stormy blue eyes that gazed back at me. Sure my eyes held nothing but my fathers confidence, and unwillingness to give in, but deep down inside I knew that it was to late. I had already given up. I would be getting married to a hideous, murderer, a horrid creature of the living dead. I closed my eyes as I felt a slight dampness enter them. No. No tears tonight. They won't get that satisfaction. "Isn't it a bit late for a beautiful woman to be out alone, even more so, unprotected," A voice rang from behind me, causing my to jump, letting out a startled gasp. I turned quickly, tucking a few loose pieces of my bronze colored curls out of my face. But the only thing around was darkness, and the sway of the trees as a cool breeze blew past. "Who is there, show yourself at once," I demanded, in that authorized tone my father had taught me to use with out citizens. I watched in slight alarm as a tall, slim figure shifted from behind a near by tree. But I couldn't make out much other then he might have been wearing all black. "You seem to have some bite to you don't you," The figure snickered, appearing to cross his arms to lean back on the tree he had just appeared from. I gritted my teeth, ignoring his comments. "Were you spying on me?" I asked narrowing my eyes. A chuckle now was heard, and at that moment I just wanted to punch this guy in the face. "Believe it or not, I wasn't, I was just out for some fresh air, same as you I assume," As he said this, he stepped a bit closer, bringing him into view from the moonlight. I gasped, going weak in the legs as I took in his striking handsomeness. I started my gaze at his flawless body, so tall, sleek, his stance demonstrating a dark power, that created shivers to roll down my spine. His muscles were defined, and impressive, along with every inch of his perfect face. A mysterious smirk touched his lips, holding my attention a bit longer, but that didn't stop me from gazing up at his bright purple eyes. They stared back at me, glowing as bright as the sun, yet hiding the most dark and twisted just underneath it's surface. My heart began to race as i watched him. Who was this guy? Bump? What do you think
