Part 43: Jenna's Point of View We were back at home now, we got back last week. Things sort of went back to normal for Mason. He was back to his old self, unless he was around me. Then he was the amazing guy that I fell in love with. Josh and Ali were very relieved and incredibly thankful to that Carter and I went all the way to Utah to find Mason. But really, it was all Sami. We couldn't have done it without her. I shuffled my books around in my arms and shoved my algebra 2 book into my locker. I took out another textbook and shut it. As I turned around, Mason caught my eye. He was surrounded by his usual group of friends, Aubree clinging onto his arm like there was no tomorrow. His dark eyes shifted down and gave an annoyed look in Aubree's direction. That set my heart at ease, it ended the turmoil inside my head. Like, just knowing that he still hated Aubree made me feel a million times better. Mason's black eyes shifted again. But this time over to me. A warm smile spread across his face, and infected my own like a plague. His smile soon vanished, along with mine when Aubree's lips pressed against his. I could just smack that fitch. He pushed her away and shot her another incredibly maddened look, and then shot me an apologetic glance. I shook my head and looked away. Man, did she ducking steamed me up. Mason isn't my boyfriend .. which made my angry again. I suppose I couldn't really get mad at him, though. All he wanted was assurance that he's the one for me, because he knows that I'm the one for him. It's understandable, but it hurts like dell to see Aubree hanging all over him. I turned to head over to my next class, but I ran right into someone's chest, causing my books to drop out of my arms. "Mason." I growled as I bent down to pick up my books. A chuckle came from above me. A deep, manly chuckle. Those aren't Mason's shoes. That's not Mason's laugh. "Mason?" A voice said in-between laughs. The owner of the shoes that aren't Mason's, and the laugh that isn't Mason's bent down to help me pick up my books. After we had finished picking them up, I stood. Followed by the man. For the first time I allowed myself to gaze up at him. A deep purple button down shirt that made his green eyes pop. A black backpack slung around his shoulders. White teeth forming a large grin. Sandy blonde hair. An athletic build. Khaki pants. Black shoes. "Hey Jenna." Owen had such a warm smile. "Oh, hey Owen." I smiled back. Girls had their heads turned in our direction. Like I said, Owen is every girl's dream guy. He's clean cut, polite, and respectful. But then again, so was Mason. For the totally opposite reason. Mason was tall, dark, and handsome. Rude and disrespectful. But charming and mysterious. Very seductive. "I was just wondering if you wanted to catch a movie tonight? Practice got canceled and I kind of wanted to hang out.." He smiled up at me with a hopeful look in his eyes. My eyes broke away from his to look at Mason. Mason was staring right at us. His body was tense and he had a hurt look in his eyes. But he slowly nodded, urging me further. I turned back to Owen. "Yeah." I smiled. "I'd love to."
Part 44: Mason's Point of View Her eyes found mine again. I nodded slightly, even though it killed me to willingly let the girl I love date another guy. Six months, Mason. Six months. You sir, are an {insert bad word here} who likes to put yourself in pain. That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm putting my heart in the fire by letting her date other people. She would be mine right now. You dumb duck. I sighed as I watched a smile spread across Owen's face. She said yes. I know I told her to give Owen a chance, but not anymore. Not after I admitted to her that I love her. She loves me too though. Or maybe she just thinks she does.. We'll find out soon, I guess. I need something to take my mind off of Jenna. I can't deal with my heart breaking seeing her with another guy. Even if I did bring this onto myself. I'm going to regret this. I'll regret it by time. Then why the duck are you doing it, you idiot? That's what I am. I'm an idiot. But I can't control myself. Once an {insert bad word here}, always an {insert bad word here}. "Hey Aubree." I said. I just needed a distraction. That's all it is. "What are you doing later?"
Uhhhhhgg. Mason is a moron. Jenna's probably a virgin still, and he's done it like a bajillionn times.
