Skip to the word SKIP if you don't need to read this. Final Chapter: When I finally awoke the woman was still there, looking down at me. She was in her fourty's, but still had a young face. She reminded me of someone at school. Could it be that she was a teacher? No, she wouldn't have adopted me if she knew what a dumb-ass I was. Adopted! I was being adopted! This was to much for me to ask for. A free bed, and free food. A wave of sadness passed over me as I remembered all of the dunks and drug addicts in my old area of town. If only... If only they could have been adopted when they were my age maybe... Just maybe they would have had a normal life. "I'm going to change that!" I thought. One day, when I'm much older, and I have the money and resources, I'm going to change those people's lives. No. Stop fantasizing Oliver! I can't get all dreamy. Not now. It was only then that I realized that the woman had been talking to me the whole time. "Would you Like to see your new family Oliver?" She asked excitedly. I nodded but I wasn't sure what to expect. Maybe I needed more time to prepare. But it didn't seem like I had any say in the matter anymore because with a wild look on her face she pulled me out of my bed. She was pure hyper. As I walked with her down the stairs I stared at the many, very un-necessary things on the walls, like paintings. Waste of money I thought as we trudged toward the kitchen where I could hear chatting. Quickly the woman stopped me before entering. "Are you ready to meet your father and sister, Oliver?" She asked, but to me, it sounded like a threat. I gulped. A sister? This was going to be interesting. "Yes" I said, as quiet as possible. The people in there had obviously heard my new Mom ask me the question, but for whatever reason, I didn't want them to hear me. I knew my life was about to change dramatically. But I had never expected what was about to happen. I gasped as I rounded the corner. Sitting at the table with a man in a business suit was Karina Pike. The butter knife girl. "This is going to be complicated" I groaned. But I put on my greatest smile I could make as approached them. This was going to be very, very complicated. SKIP Ok so here we go. Adoption starts here. Chapter 1: "Ahh you idiot!!!" Screamed my new sister. Why did she have to get so worked up anyway? I only splashed a tiny spec of water on her green silk dress. Even if it WAS wrecked, she had fifty other ones to choose from. She spent four months of my old salary a week back for a beautiful azure shirt, and what did she do when she got home? She through it in to the depth and mystery of her back closet, which of course, I'm not allowed to go near. That was practically the first thing she demanded when I appeared at the table that awful and yet wonderful morning last month. Don't touch my stuff. I chuckled as I remembered the horrified look on her face when she first realized that I was being adopted. My new mother had been incredibly happy to see me, and my father, well... I can never read my fathers emotions. I look up to him, but I never understand him. All he had done when I walked into the kitchen, was study me. He studied my worn-out tanned face, surprisingly dark compared to the paleness of my new family's faces. Even though we all have similar features, it's obvious that I'm adopted. A bang of a door brought me back to reality. Karina had ran into the house in a rage because I had splashed her, leaving me alone in the pool. That was fine with me, as it was pretty difficult learning to swim, and super embarrassing when someone was watching you trash around in the crystal clear water. Being in a family full of rich people isn't the easiest change when coming off from being a street boy. There are so many things that are expected, and in my case mainly, so many things that are frowned apon. I'm also not sure how well Claws is enjoying the transition. If he shows signs that he isn't liking it, I'm moving out. Nobody, and I mean nobody, will get away with harming, or annoying Claws! But as I lept off the edge of the pool, clearing 6 feet of air, and as I hit the water like cement, and went plummeting the the bottom of the pool, I though that I had more importent matters to take care of. Like surviving in the water of the wealthy.
It's really good, it's as good as the last one and it's only the first chapter! Keep up the good work! Oh, yeah, I almost forgot: BUMPY BUMP BUMP!
You're not a noob! I am ! My stories barely get good. But I'm fine with it. This is great! Keep Going!
Chapter 2: It felt uncanny being able to see people that couldn't see me. That's the first thing I though as our sleek, black BMW steered out of the driveway. When I say 'our' I really mean my father's, but my sister acts like it's hers. This is the first day of school I'm going to have since I was adopted so long ago. My family thinks I'm ready to go back, although I could hear my sister up all night arguingwith my parents. She doesn't want to have to face the fact that the popular girl, is now the sibling of the school alien. The school punchbag. The school idiot. Those are all words people have called me, and I've regretted every one of them. I've fantasized being popular before, or having a popular date, but I never immagined this. The most popular girl in the school... being my sister. I'm sure half the guys in Grade 12 would pay to be in my situation. Probably half of the grade 11's too. And yet somehow, God has placed me here, where I feel so out-of-place. That's another thing that's new for me. Although my family is atheist, since I've been adopted, I've started to pray. I've started to beileve. "Haha!" Karina laughs, turning my attention to her. For a sickening second I worry that maybe I was thinking outloud, but she wasn't laughing at me. She was laughing at the bloke who was trying to hitchhike a ride. But I recognize him from out school, so he was probably only doing it because he knew it was Karina's car. What he didn't know was that the passenger seat this morning, was occupied. That made ME laugh. With shock I realize that it's the first laugh I've ever shared with my sister. "Must be a miracle." I mutter under my breath, suddenly turning to a sour mood again. "What was that?" Karina shot back at me, suddenly glaring. But I was saved of having to think up something to say by my father's announcement. "We're hear!" He stated. Karina tensed. Whatever was about to happen when she, and then me, stepped out of the car into the mob of students, could decrease her popularity dramatically. I on the other-hand, was smirking. Ms. Preppy girl was about to have to playoff whatever I said or did very, very well. Basically, her fate... was in my hands.
