Music is a foreign language Music is writing Music is a form of art Music is math Music is science Music is history ----------------------------- Music terms are in Italian Music is a form of writing because you write more then just notes Why ISN'T music an art!?! Art is more then just painting or drawing Music is math the Forte simbles are a Variable as much other things Music is science because your instrument produces sound waves Music is history because music founded our country! During the civil war drummer boys used snare drums And this is way MUSIC MAKES YOU SMARTER
Music doesn't use integrals or volume of figures with circular cross sections on an axis of rotation wrong picture in the math section
Music is a major on colleges. My school taught music, gave kids money to go to school. From then they learned how to make money producing and writing music..joining national bands. Music is beneficial.
'music is a major on colleges' this sounds totally wrong Yes you can major in music but it is a relatively worthless degree especially at the bachelors level. There are not many job opportunities available with this degree and you will likely have to get a higher level degree. As people always say, if you are determined, you can do anything. While that is true in this case, you will have to work very hard and excel if you want to do something with a music degree.
That did sound wrong and I'm in college..wow. Which is why it's down played as a major it may not have as many opportunities but it still carries the pure skill that you need to succeed in it. Another reason why the pay is so high relative to going to school to be am educator of kids where the pay is lower because theres so many of them.
Music IS art. Don't get it mistaken with Science and Math. My teacher who taught us Music used to say how the symbols were so crucially similar to Math ones, but I always had the tempting urge to blurt out and tell her no. But now that we have another teacher, I never got the chance. Just like literature, music is another type of art. It has history, too. Music is also a major thing in life, but with what Unicorn said, I'm not sure if it's really that important to be a Major in college. I don't think there are many careers that specifically want you to have experience in music other than being a singer or musician. Prove me wrong. It's an opinion.
You're right. But college is all about opportunities. And for someone that wants to pursue a career in music why deny them that right? Because all of what you said of why music is an art and similar to math is how that person feels when they think of music. Raw passion and talent that they have drives them to succeed In that field. And college gives them the chance to let that happen the right way.
I never said that you should deny that right. Raw passion is important for an individual to strive forward and to achieve his or her dream. Denying a right like that makes you a cruel person who doesn't have a voice of reason. I never said Music was similar to Math. Far from that. And the point you want to tell me is...?
If my child (when I have kids) wants to major in music, I'd let him or her do that. I would tell my child the lack of job opportunities with a music degree and that he or she would need to work very hard and be passionate about this in order to be successful. In the end, someone should be able to major in what they want as you said, but they should be aware of job opportunities with their degree. And I view music as an art just like Chloe does but however you view it is your interpretation. You can perhaps draw other elements from it such as math in that it has a tempo and has meters and other things but the dominant categorization from my perspective would be calling it an art.
See all of that was unnecessary at the end because I never said you did deny that right. It Was a generalization. And that's all fine and dandy but you can't completely knock it.
