  8. Gas prices are going up because environmentalists won't let us drill offshore oil and greedy oil companies won't build refineries to convert oil into gasoline. They make more money when oil isn't as available because the price per barrel goes up with less refineries.

  12. Hybrids are worse for the environment than gasoline power engines. Think of how they get their electricity.... Coal fired power plants.

  15. Solar power is too expensive as of now, water is only available where there is rapidly moving water, an wind power just takes too many turbines and doesn't produce enough energy.

  20. Chamis, unless you live in a place that is powered via nuclear power plant then you're probably on coal.

    Coal is burned. Water is boiled by hot coal. Water turns to steam. Steam spins turbines. Water cools and is recycled through the system. Coal turns into smoke which floods our atmosphere.

    That's how power is produced. So essentially electri vehicles are shifted away from gas and run on coal, instead.
