The thought span round and round my head as Luke and the man carried on kicking and punching each other, rolling backwards over the sofa and smacking each others heads. I gazed wide eyed and helpless at the drama, and began to study Luke's gloves. They were brown, ripped leather and had a white angel crest emblazoned on the front. I looked at the mans gloves and gasped. They were almost identical. The only difference was that the crest on the man's gloves was black. That could only mean one thing; he wasn't human either. My thoughts rang out to Luke and I saw his eyes widen. He threw the man off him and ran over to my side. I was still sat on the floor, and I put my head in my hands, this was not going to end well. My hands felt damp and I looked at them. They were covered in crimson fluid; through all the fighting I hadn't noticed my head was pouring with blood. Luke ripped off a glove and put his hand on the wound. I winced as I felt my skin knit itself together again before standing up next to Luke. 'What do you want from us?' Luke snarled. 'I want the girl.' He stated simply. I looked at him in horror. I was Luke's. No way in hell is that happening. 'Youre vermin.' I spat. The man's eyes filled with anger and Luke gave me a warning glance. 'Oh dear girl, do you even know what I am? I doubt your precious boy has told you about my kind. I'll leave you two to have a catch up then, but don't fret... I'll be back.' Sorry that was short, I'm tryna make my plan last for more updates before I get writers block again
The man turned around left via the kitchen window, sneering at us as he went. The shards of glass fell to the floor and I flinched as I remembered what happened last time something smashed.. Luke sat down on the sofa and pulled me down beside him, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I turned to him and looked into his piercing eyes. 'What did he mean, 'his kind'?' Luke looked uncomfortable. This was clearly not something he had wanted to tell me. 'Um..his kind. They're called the uh, the Nightmare Men. They're angels who turned bad.They come to people in their nightmares and um, they..' 'Luke. Tell me?' 'They kill them.' He looked into my eyes, I could see tears forming in his. 'But it's fine!' he quickly interjected. 'Thats why I'm here, I came to protect you from everyone and everything, I won't let him hurt you, I promise.' 'Why me?' I whispered, a tear rolling down my cheek. A few months ago I led a normal, happy life, and now look at me, I was a mess. Luke pulled me into a strong hug and rested his head on mine. He put on a strong voice, but I could feel teardrops landing on my hair. 'I don't know baby, I don't know.' I sniffed and wiped my tears away. 'You know what?' I breathed, 'I'm not going to let him get to me. This past couple of months have been so difficult, losing control of my life, losing you..' He hugged me tighter. 'This man can try whatever the hell he wants... Cause I've been living in a nightmare already.'
