Omg I started this story today and I couldn't stop. Its great! Your a wonderful author! Am I forgetting anything? Oh ya!! Bump!
Wahhh sorry for super super late update Was terribly busy. Jayden's POV I was still shocked... What was happening? She disappeared right in front of me... I couldn't stop replaying it in my head. Where has she gone? Where is she now? What is she doing? What is she? I knew she couldn't be human.. No human could have light coming out of them and suddenly disappear like how Cora did... I now knew why she didn't understand the concepts of a belt... Still, I was still struck with shock and confusion. Where did she go? What exactly happened? What was it that she was hiding from me? I had so many questions running through my head that it wasn't even funny. I couldn't even think right. Although it was replayed a thousand times in my head, there were so many questions that I forgot how Cora had disappeared. Among the thousand of questions I had, I only pondered on one of them: Will she come back? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been 5 hours since school was out. I was so annoyed. The police came asking me questions about what happened. Apparently, all the cameras in the school were blown up by the huge gust, so none of it was caught on tape. Which was why the police came to me. Everyone knew that the disaster started in the boys' bathroom. Those stupid big-mouthed guys that ran to me during class to tell me that Cora was in the boys' bathroom ratted everything. They told the police how Cora entered the bathroom and locked herself in a cubicle. It was like they were blaming her for everything. Of course it angered me, and I walked away. Okay, so what if I punched the guys in their noses? They deserved it for blaming everything on Cora..! I was sitting alone in my house. It hasn't even been long that Cora has been living with me, and I already missed her... I missed her voice... I missed the way she'd avoid me when I got close to her. It's only been 7 whole hours that she has gone, and I already missed her to death. I swear it feels as if it's been decades... That night, I slept alone. Only, I didn't actually fall asleep. I was still thinking about what had happened. If Cora left, how will I ever be able to live? If she never came back, what would become of me? What if she stays in the place wherever she went to and forgets about me? How will I ever be able to get her to remember me again? All these thoughts ran through my head... I didn't even know why I was thinking about these questions. What was my head doing? She was just a random girl, wasn't she..? No wait, she wasn't even human..! I was so confused that I had to sit up the whole night without any sleep.. Why did I miss her so much? Why did I wish she was here with me? What was she to me? Why was my heart aching for her presence..? Cora's POV I slept in my room that night... I know it hasn't been a while that I've been living with Jayden, but it felt so weird to be back here in my old room... I forced everyone to leave me alone for the night by putting a spell on my doors. I wanted to be alone so bad... I couldn't sleep, so I sat up on my bed and began figuring out the plan. Now that I knew that my father was really stabbed in the heart, I had to be quick with thinking about the plan. I dind't want to die. I didn't want my mother to die. I didn't want my family to die... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was already time to get up for everyone else. But me, I was still up. I didn't get a blink of sleep... I was up the whole night thinking of the plan to save my generation. And I finally thought of the right plan... Just when I was about to go out of my room and tell my mother what I thought of, something occured to me... I began thinking about going back to the human world if the plan succeeded...
Cora's Pov "Ikydis? As in Lady Ikydis?" my mother asked me with curiosity. I just finished explaining my plan to everyone. They only gave me blank, discouraging faces in return. I was trying to save all our lives, and they were sitting here drooling without any courage at all. [[ Lady Ikydis is someone that'll be explained later. It's pronounced Ik-kye-diss ]] "Yes, Lady Ikydis." I repeated. "Have you gone insane?" someone asked from the crowd. I looked to find the one that shouted that stupid comment out, but I couldn't find him. There were too many devils to spot the right one. "Look, if you guys want to find some other plan and waste more time, go ahead." I said one last time. I was tired of them not taking my advice, not following my plans. I was the only one who even thought of a plan. "All of you know very well that my father's heart only has 2 to 3 weeks left until that hole outgrows it. We can't waste more time trying to think of a plan if we already have one." Everyone looked at each other. "Madame, what do you think of this?" one of my father's loyal men asked my mother. My mother looked at me, then everyone in the crowd. "I trust my daughter.." my mother finally announced. I took in a deep breath. Our lives depended on me now, and I had to make this work. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I spread the map onto the table. Everyone crowded around me to listen to the plan once again. "Okay," I began, "you all know about Lady Ikydis' past. We all know her as the odd widow. But, we have to put all our thoughts about her aside right now. Here is where she is located." I pointed at a small illustration of a house that was on the map. "She is here. We will split up into two teams and travel around her house. You all know very well that she keeps a border around her house that can kill any devil. So, we'll go around her house. From there, I'll go to the front and make sure I get in." "How are you going to get in?" my mother asked. "You said so yourself that she puts a border around her house that can kill any devil." I looked at my mother. "I'm going to break through that border." "No, I'm not going to let you--" "No matter what," I interrupted my mother, "I'll make sure I get through." "No, Cora. You are not going to try and break through that border, it is dangerous--" "I've been through things that are more dangerous." I interrupted her again. As soon as I said that, the first thing I thought of was: [Flashback] "It's a seatbelt." Jayden said to me. "You'll need it." Before I could ask why he didn't put his on, the car blasted at full speed. [Flashback is over] Oh, yeah. That was wayyyyyy more dangerous than this! I turned back to everyone. "Now," I continued, "Lady Ikydis doesn't like to be bothered. But, I don't give a damn. When I break through that border, I'm gonna pound her door down and force her break off the border. Once we're all in, we'll tell her that we need her help. No matter what happens, we must make sure she agrees to help us. If she doesn't agree to help us, I know for sure that she'll fasten our remaining time. And if that happens, we'll all perish sooner." Everyone looked at me. I wasn't joking. If Lady Ikydis didn't help us, she'd make the time pass by faster. She was a widow, but her husband was the second best Potion Maker of hell. I'm sure he taught her a few tricks. "When are we going?" someone asked. I looked up at everyone. "Now." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't want to walk nor fly to her house. It'd take too long. Instead, I made everyone stand in a huge group. I stood in the middle and used the spell my father taught me. With three words from my mouth, we were all transported to the front of Lady Ikydis' house. Everyone spreaded out and followed my plan. I stayed in the front of the house with half of the soldiers and half of the workers. My mother stood by my side. When the devils that were surrounding the back of her house finally gave us the signal, I took a deep breath. I knew it would be painful. I knew it might kill me. I knew I might not be able to get past it. But there was no time to go back. There was no time for hesitation. I looked at the huge green aurora lingering around her gigantic home. The border looked so harmless, but there were bones floating inside it.. Those bones were the bones of all the other devils that tried to break through. "Cora, I don't want you to do this..." my mother said to me worriedly. "It can kill you.." I kept my gaze on the border. I built up all my strength, all my hate... If going through this border of hell would give me a chance to save my family, I'll go through it. If going through this stupid broder meant that Lady Ikydis will help me save my family, I'll go through it. If going through this border meant that my father's heart would stop rotting, you're damn right I'll go through it!! Without another thought, I leaped into the border. The pain struck me. It felt as if there were 10,000 knives digging into my skin... It felt like I was being skinned alive... The pain was so powerful that I couldn't even move. I couldn't even remember what I jumped in for... I wanted to get back out so bad, but I couldn't. Either I stay in this border and die, or I try my best to go forward... But, I couldn't.. It was so hard, so painful... I screamed with pain. I could feel the blood rushing out of my skin. Blood was leaking out from my arms and my legs. The blood was streaming down fast, and I was about to lose it. I was just about to give in until I heard the sound of my mother crying. I couldn't turn my head to look, but I knew it was her. I heard my name throughout her cries. I felt her tears on my back. I felt her cries vibrating through my ears. Suddenly, I felt something in my heart... Something I haven't felt since my father left for the Human World... I felt the strength I used to have when my father was still by my side... I groaned with great pain and I began moving forward slowly. It was my father. I knew it. He is here with us... I can feel him.. I feel him around me.. I feel him in my heart.. I closed my eyes. The pain grew stronger as I got to the middle point of the killing aurora. There was more pressure on my skin, more blood gushed out of my body, and I actually felt my body growing weak from the lack of blood. I was about to give up. I wanted to give up. But I knew I had to go on... I knew I had to get through to save me and my family... I tried pushing on the aurora to get me out, but it felt as if there was a wall there. It felt like I was pushing on a wall... I was losing it... I was giving up... I was getting weak.. I was dying... I screamed over and over again, but it didn't help a bit. I had to get through this..! I had to save my generation..! I had to get revenge for my father! I had to survive! I had to survive... I had to survive to see... to see Jayden again!! I suddenly opened my eyes. All the pain went away, and anger filled in. If this aurora was gonna stop me from seeing Jayden, fck that! I'm not gonna lose to it! With one last scream, I shoved my way through the killing aurora. I ignored the pain. I ignored the feeling of the knives stabbing me. I ignored everything around me. The only thing in my mind was Jayden. Boom! I was just about to get through the aurora when it was broken off. It was no longer there... I fell to the ground helplessly. Everyone rushed over to me. My mother held me and cried. I couldn't feel my body at all... I felt numb, I felt weak. I shivered with pain as my mother wiped the blood off of me. She said a few words in my ears, and I suddenly felt like my body was recovering. I saw white lights floating around my body, and the blood on me slowly began to wash away. My muscles began coming back. My cuts began healing. After a while, I was back to normal, although I still felt a pain. Everyone helped me up, and I stared up at the house. And there she was. She was staring at all of us from the highest window. She had broken off the border... The door opened. We all stared at it for a while, then I got out of my mother's grip. I limped towards the door, holding my arm. She suddenly appeared in front of the door before I could even step inside. I almost fell back from the look on her face. Her eyes were squinted as if she was suspicious of me. Her make-up was smeared both under and above her eyes. Her lipstick was rubbing off, but there was a trail leading both ways, making her look like the Joker. Her scent was horrible too. I tried desperately to not cover my nose. "What do you want?" she asked me angrily. Even her voice was scary... "I-I need your help.." I answered, trying to push the pain away. I tried to look up at her, but it was too hard. She was scaring me. "Help you for what, eh?" her voice still had suspicion in it. "Help you like how you helped me when my husband died? Don't be crazy! None of you guys helped me when I was in need, did you??" Was she trying to push my buttons? This old lady almost killed me with her stupid aurora, and now she was trying to start a duel with me?? "Help me..." I begged. "Please..." Lady Ikydis turned around. "What do you think I broke the border off for, stupid girl?" She walked inside. My mother and only a few of my father's loyal men followed me. The rest stayed outside incase anything happened. Inside, there were spider webs and books all over. Everything was wiped out with dust. I couldn't even see the bare floor. I felt as if all we were stepping on was a huge land of dust... Lady Ikydis sat down on the sofa and stared up at us. "Tell me what you need help with before I change my mind, you fools!" I tried to hold my anger in. She's lucky she's old. She's also lucky that her stupid aurora weared me out! "My father was stabbed through the heart..." I told her. She looked at me, waiting for me to continue. "You're the only one who can help us now... Please. I need you to make some sort of potion that will allow me to save my family. We will all die if I don't stop my father's heart from rotting... It is rotting right now as we speak..." "Your father was stabbed in the heart, you say?" she asked me. I nodded, trying not to add onto the pain. "Please..." I begged. She looked at us. Then she closed her eyes. "Let me think about it..." She didn't say anything else. She sat there with her eyes closed. I didn't even know if she was asleep, or if she was really thinking about it. Or was she just trying to get me angry again? I was getting impatient. Why was she taking so long? It's been almost 20 minutes already, and she still hasn't opened her eyes or said anything yet! Whas she really thinking about it? After another 10 minutes, she finally opened her eyes. I was about to say 'finally', but I stopped when I saw her eyes. She had tears... The tears slowly fell down her eyes as she looked up at me. Her gaze stayed on me. I was the only one she was looking at. "W-What is it?" I asked. She wiped her tears, but more came. After a few seconds, she finally spoke. "Yes, I'll help you guys..." she said. "Because there is someone in the Human World waiting depserately for you, and I can feel his pain..." I looked at her and thought for a moment. Jayden....
