In the middle of the darkness, there is always a small light shining in the distance. Never fading. Never dimming. Chapter 1 Running through the woods, the sounds of crushing leaves, and twigs, the cool night sky seeping through my fur, was a feeling like to other. I had to calm down soon though, I had to get back to the pack before day light. I paused right at the very edge of trees, about to turn back to my weak human form when a strong scent hit my senses. I glared, not at all liking the smell, the hackles on my back stood the closer I got to it. When I reached the scent I concentrated, letting the energy flow through me, until a flash of tingles, and heat overtook my body, putting it back in human form. There, laying in the snow was a boy. His appearance was breath taking, he had the perfect body, seeming as though every inch of him was pure perfection. Like the god Adonis, his beautiful face left me in quiet awe. His hair fell down just a little past the middle of his forehead in a wave of chocolate curls. I slowly leaned down, my hand touching his freezing cold chest that stiffly rose and fell. I looked at him a bit closer. There just was something about him.. It was dark.. Almost evil.. But maybe I was being paranoid. I listened intently, hearing the thud of his heart. He was thank the heavens, still alive. I desperately wanted to touch this boys face, to stroke his perfectly sculpted cheeks, but I held back, getting a good hold on him, pulling him towards the village. I had to help him.. Any good?
It didn't take long to get him back to the village, but as soon as I made it to the middle of town, everyone was out and standing around staring at the boy I had let lay for a minute. "Jaysa, what is this?" A voice from the crowd muttered sounding a bit negative towards the subject. "I found this boy freezing out in the snow, he'll die if we don't help him." I said, looking down at the pasted out man. "Jaysa human life isn't our concern, our concern is the good of the pack." A deep, controlling voice called out. I looked up to see our pack leader, standing over me. His piercing hazel eyes brought me to my knees in front of him. "I'm sorry Seth.. But he was in trouble.. And I just wanted to help him." I said lowering my head in respect. "She wasn't thinking about anything but putting us in danger Seth, you know what trouble Jaysa Willow puts us in." The snotty voice of Ruby commented. Ruby glared daggers at me as she prances over, and clung to Seth's arm. I fought back a snarl at her, wanting so badly to just attack her. She thought she was all that because she was dating the pack leader, she targeted me and any of the other pack girls to rub it in our faces. "Ruby that's enough." Seth said, but a bit more gently to her then if it was someone else from the pack. She bit her lip, but continued her harsh glare. "Jaysa this... Human, won't be safe here, and it won't be any of our responsibilities if he gets hurt, understand." Seth said seriously. I beamed looking up at him. "You'll let him stay?" I said brightly. Ruby growled lowly looking up at Seth. He shook his head at her, and looked to me. "Yes, but keep him out of trouble." He muttered and turned around leaving. Ruby hissed at me, and quickly followed. I smiled down at the boy. So far so good. Bump?
"Need a hand with that?" A friendly voice sounded from behind me. I jumped a bit, turning fast to look up at Zander, the most handsome, charming, and best of all; strongest male alpha in the pack. He was Seth's younger brother, yet I swear some times Zander seems much more skilled. I stuttered a bit, looking away from his perfect face down to the boy I had been dragging along for a while now. "U-um yes please.. He's a bit heavy." I stated, pushing a piece of my hair out from my face. Zander chuckled, and with a scoop of his hand he tossed the boy over his shoulder and began to walk next to me. I fought back the urge to blush as I watched his muscles flex through his shirt. "So what are you going to name him?" Zander asked watching down at me with gently, soft-looking lips. I snapped my eyes away from his mouth, and chuckled a bit, more out of nervousness then anything else. "I'm sure he will already have a name, at least that's what it said in History class." I said with a rueful smile. His emerald green eyes sparkled with amusement. I bit my lip watching him, I hadn't even noticed we were stopped in front of my house. "Well, good luck with this thing." Zander said, putting him down on the floor on front of me. I smiled cheekily. "Thanks Zander." I said, and pulled at the human boy into the house. I cursed silently at the blush on my cheeks, and finally I pulled the boy onto my couch in front of the fire place. For a minute I admired him, he seemed to bring my living room to life with his beauty. I placed three heavy blanks over him, and quickly turned up the temperature of the room to a toasty 80 degrees. "You should be warm in no time, I promise." I whispered to him, and slowly, ever so gently I touched his face with my fingers, just grazing his skin barely. I was shocked to feel a light buzz of sparks between our contact. I backed away immediately, pulling my hand away from him. What had that been?! Calm down Jaysa, this was probably just what all humans did. I relaxed a bit, and sat down in front of the couch, watching the handsome boy, laying on my couch. God what have I gotten myself into? Shall I update?
