why are you religious?

  1. I was raised as a roman catholic. I was actually doubting this religion when my grandma took me to Lourdes in France. There, I felt at peace in mind and soul.

Also, you may laugh but when I was little, my older cousin traumatised be about ghosts, and am still feeling that way. I feel a presence and that someone's looking at me. But then, I make the sign of the cross and pray aloud, and the feeling goes away.

  2. That's funny you should say that because when I was haunted as a little kid saying "I love you god" over and over about 50 times made it leave my room for the night.

  3. @lillyisnotonfire

I asked the same question to my religion teacher and a priest, and they too didn't answer me well. They said that some things are too complicated for the human mind to understand and that science has to bow down to faith some times.

  4. See bowing down just translates to "give us the power to lead you and don't question what we say"

  5. I guess so, lol. But I didn't understand them and they didn't answer clearly. I think they meant that somethings are unexplainable and you have to keep faith

  6. Hahahaha I don't believe that, some things are unexplainable because you are asking the incorrect question and viewing the wrong information.

  7. Maybe, I don't know. But where would you find out?

I'm not Disrespecting you opinion by the way.

  8. I want you to know in trying to not disrespect you either! I guess you find out by making your information public and having that used as a stepping stone for farther explanations of the world and only till someone brighter or with a different perspective on life comes around and disproves you, do you know that you were incorrect. Until then you just have to wait or keep searching for more answers.

  9. Dshot is this whole thing really important to you

  10. Hey come on give him credit. 21 pages and no caps rage fights yet on a religion thread too 

  11. Oh my Fruck I just notice that no one fought hmm amazingBuy more fudge so I can roll around on it*Very interesting

  12. So, to answer the question ... I was brought up an Orthodox Christian, and continue to practice it. There was a time when I lost faith in the human interpretation, if you will, of Christianity — I have met some truly unforgivably evil priests and figures of religious authority. However, I know that humans are not perfect, and God is the centre of the religion, not them; thus, my belief has never swayed.

I have not read all of the thread yet, but I did read a few pages, and I saw someone say that they didn't believe in God because there is so much wrong with the world. I am not trying to convert you or anyone else who believes this, but I would just like to point out that there's always Satan to cause problems ... and anyway, God does not exist to clean up our messes. He created humans, things went wrong in the Garden of Eden — through our own fault — and ever since then we have messed up. WE need to solve our own problems, not wait for some greater power to step in and do everything for us.

Sorry if I said anything repetitive; as I said, I haven't read the whole thread yet.

  13. Hey could it be possible that every religion is related to each other somehow?

  14. Maybe it possible and their night be one religion that atucally true

  15. It's funny you bring that up, watch zieghtguist I think I spelt that way wrong! The beginning of the documentary is about religion. If you arnt convinced the government banned it for 3 years before they won their case so they must not want you to know something 0.o

  16. I'm from Haiti and well we have a varity of religions but Catholic and Voodoo dominat the island but voodoo pretty everyone practice it i atucally a Descendent of a Voodoo Priest

  17. @ silver, I love the points you made, it's very true. I just feel like the bible has been corrupted since before its English translation and that there is a lot in there that "god" truely doesn't want to send as a message. Or things that got mixed up and now we have the wrong meaning to them. Like I said about the dead sea scrolls (might of said black earlier like a dumb kid xD) the meaning in them is far different then the bible tells us how to live our lives.
