His Life... in My Hands

"Hey... is something wrong?" asked Kyle when I got back to the dorm.

"That... Idiot! How dare he be such an as*hole! I went to apologize just like I said and then he... I don't even know what happened!"

Kyle blinked. "Haha I don't fully understand... but you definitely look pissed... just do what you can."

"I am doing what I can!" I shouted. "But that jerk is messing with my life!"

"What's he doing that's so terrible?"

I paused. What had he done? Maybe I was just trying to get myself away from the fact that I was attracted to him... I looked away from Kyle and sighed.

"Nothing..."

"Then there's no reason to hate him so much. James is a really..."

"Don't side with him you jerk!" I shouted. "You're a pain in my as* too you know!" I said angrily.

He looked shocked. "Ah! Don't be angry with me! I'm not taking sides! I'm just saying that I care for both of you! James is my longest friend..."

"He's... your friend? But you never speak to each other."

"We do, just not as often as we used to. I've known him since I was five... His parents and my parents are close. And his ex-girlfriend is my sister, Jayme. They were really close... Ha! I totally remember those days!"

I felt somewhat jealous... Kyle's sister was James' ex-girlfriend. I had only seen pictures but she was a real beauty. She was older, twenty now and she looked real mature. She looked just like Kyle, with the blonde hair and blue eyes... but more feminine.

"What's wrong now?"

"Nothing. I'm going out for a bit..." I said and I turned towards the door.

"Again? But you just got back. Hang on, I'll go with you... I'm bored anyways. Is that okay?"

"Do as you wish," I said and I left the room. Haha... I had no idea where I was going... exactly.

"Why do we go to Shepherd's?" asked Kyle. "It's a great hang out place... but you're aren't seventeen yet... I wonder if I could sneak you in...?"

"Shepherd's?"

"It's like a bar but not really. The aristocratic population usually like to go there."

"I'm not rich..."

"Whatever! I'll pay, and I'll try to get you in!" he said and he smiled at me.

"Um... okay then," I said. A bar for rich people? Blah... how fun did that sound...?
