Ok I'm looking for the reason on why you follow the religion you do. The only twist to this is that I don't want any posts saying which one is the correct religion to follow or not. This is simply for the reasoning behind why you chose the one you did. The catch to this whole thing is that none of the stories should be "I learned in church" or "my parents raised me into it" please please please if anyone has a remarkable story on how they became religious WITHOUT SOMEONE'S INFLUIENCE, we want to hear your story!!!
Well. I'm religious because it is the best reason for my moral background. In my opinion, God is perfect. And sin in this world is deviance from perfection (or God).
I dont label myself as any religion or anything like that because I don't know what truly happens after death. But I only seek evidence to why we are here today.
I was once surrounded by a bunch of teens when I was 10 with knifes. I remember my friend cursed at them and thats why we were in that situation. Then a big man shot a gun in the air and the kids ran off. He gave us a ride home and I have to believe he was my angel. Ever since then I've been a true christian.
Did he mention anything about Christianity to give you this conclusion? Great story by the way, just what I was looking for in this thread!
You mentioned black magic.... Final fantasy fan? I remember the old blue magic and red mages. Even though there was no red magic....
I believe in my religion because I have been introduced to it since I was born and I continue to follow my religion because it helps me a lot to pass through the hard things. It's good to have something to believe in, it can be a divinty or just yourself. Everyone kind of make their own religions. You take some things in a religion but reject some others you don't believe or recognize yourself in.
That's true Matt but why should we continue teachings of a god when we can change that into every Sunday (or any day for that matter) believing in yourself and teaching people the good feelings that come from moral discipline?
I was raised southern Baptist and actually went to church alone from 11-14 because I liked it so much. Yet I still don't believe in a god anymore.
I'm not religious because I don't see how if God is so "perfect" then it should be easy for him to stop a load of the shit going on in the world, especially since he made the world in 6 days(7th day he rested, not built I think)So that shouldn't be a problem.i hope he is real tho
I do believe in a god but I'm just confused. The bible has been tampered with so im trying to figure what.... If that makes sense
Oh man!!! That's exactly what I'm doing!!! Im trying to learn Latin now to read earlier versions! The earliest version of the bible I could find in English was written in 1345. I'm glad to see you are super intelligent and you see how mis-translations were purposely done to use religion as a weapon. Just look at the black sea scrolls, the one recently uncovered that has the jesus's self chapter talks about living your life a lot differently then ALL Christians do today. Isn't that crazy?!
