Madame(Cora's mom) Pov The intruder alarm went off while I was in the middle of a conversation. Every one of my husband's workers and soldiers gathered around me as we walked down to the spot where the alarm had gone off. It was hell's policy. The Master and Madame always had to go and make sure the intruder was killed before they could reach the flames. Behind the flames were the homes of tons of devils. I was abit scared this time. It was the first time I had gone without my husband here by my side. When we arrived, we saw some of the soldiers and workers that arrived early getting thrown to the floor. Some of them were even hung by a rope that floated in mid-air. There was a huge crowd of the workers and soldiers in the middle of the room. They were all ganging up on something, I didn't know what. "Move out of my way!" I said with a swing of my hand. It sent all the workers and soldiers flying different ways. I had to be strong now that my husband wasn't here and that my daughter had gone into the human world. But, shockingly, when everyone flew away from each other, my daughter was revealed in the middle, holding one of the lab workers by his cape's collar. "C-Cora..?" I asked with shock. Cora's POV "C-Cora..?" my mother asked with shock. I turned to look at her and let go of the lab worker who tried to poison me with my father's black ring, something only he himself was able to touch. I snatched the ring from his hand and kicked him away from my side. I stared back at my mother, who now had tears in her eyes. She ran over to me and held me tightly. Although I missed her a lot, I didn't want to show it. My last words to her before I left were harsh words, and I didn't like to feel regretful. I stood there, letting her hold me. She cried on me and pulled away from our hug. "Oh, my precious daughter!" she cried as she looked at me. "What are you wearing?" I looked at my outfit. "Clothes." "Clothes? Where in the world do you find clothing like that?" "Where I came from." I answered, turning around. My answer clearly meant that it was clothing you got in the human world, but none of them seemed to understand... I looked at the ones who were hung by my ropes and released them with a swing. It felt so good to have my powers back... I turned around and walked down the hall without another word. Everyone else followed my mother, who followed me, asking me tons of questions. When we got to the mausoleum door, two guards were standing there, not letting me pass. Before I could lose my temper at them, my mother ordered for them to let me through. Both of them moved out of the way and I kicked the door open. Everyone behind me followed me once again, including the two guards that had stood in my way. I walked outside and into the mausoleum. I heard that in the human world, mausoleums were under a very bright sky. But down here, in hell, mausoleums were under a flaming, dark red sky. The human world and hell was way too different for me to be able to adjust to both. I walked over to the biggest tomb. "C-Cora, what are you doing here? We are not allowed to come here." my mother asked behind me. I could tell she was following because she didn't want me to do anything stupid, like leave to the human world. I scanned the tomb for a name, and when I found it, it wasn't my father's name. I turned over to the guards that had followed us in. "Where is my father's body?" I asked, stating it as if it wasn't a question. "We haven't buried him yet, Young Madame.. His body was appointed to be burnt tomorrow, since we couldn't bare to watch him decay." one of the guards answered me. "I asked where his body was, not for your opinions about his body rotting!" "Cora!" my mother shouted at me as if I had done something wrong. I didn't do anything wrong. I had to make sure that my father was really stabbed through the heart before I could actually begin thinking of a way to save us all. "Follow me, please." the smart guard answered with the answer I wanted. I followed him impatiently. Everyone else followed again. My mother kept asking questions as she followed me. Her stupid questions annoyed me so much that I wished I hadn't returned and stayed with Jayden. When we arrived, we were all standing in an empty orange room. There was only one thing in that room. It was my father's body, which was laying on a bed all the way at the back against a wall. Without a word, I walked over to my father's corpse and right away, I could smell the disgusting scent that was lingering from his rotting body coming towards me. The smell was horrendous, but I continued walking towards him anyway. When I reached my father's body, all that was visible was his face. Everything else was covered in a deep red cloth, which made it hard to tell if his body was still bleeding or not. I pulled the cloth off and almost threw up at the sight. Everyone behind me gasped, except my mother. She was used to seeing these things. She once watched my Uncle rot, since she was so heart broken that he had died. My father's body had holes all over that leaked of disgusting black blood and a whole bunch of sticky stuff. I couldn't even tell which hole was the one that killed him... His whole torso was visible, but from there on down, his clothes were kept on. Although I couldn't tell if it was really my father or not, I knew it was him, since one of his wrists contained the bracelet I made for him when I was five years of age. When I spotted that bracelet, I almost broke into tears. My father's face was so distorted from the rotting that I didn't even want to look at him. But I forced myself to. He was my father after all, and he was the only one who understood me... And I felt very guilty when I decided that I had to do it... I forced my hand away from my side and dug it into the spot where I thought his heart was. It took me two tries to feel his heart inside his body. And when I did feel it, there was indeed a hole stabbed right through it. I had to move my hand around inside that hole in order for me to know how big the weapon used to stab my father was. Behind me, everyone gasped with shock and disgust. I could hear my mother crying. Big. The hole was big. Meaning that the weapon that was used to stab my father was big. The size of the weapon used to stab a Devil in their heart determines the amount of time that Devil's family has until they perish. Small meant a lot of time, much more time than you'll ever need. An average-sized weapon meant that you had a regular amount of time, abit longer than a regular human's lifetime. A big weapon meant you had very short time, 2 to 3 weeks max. I turned around and looked at everyone. They all stared back at me, covering their noses with confusion. "Mother..." I began. My mother turned to me. "Father was stabbed in the heart..." I finished. Everyone looked at each other with shock. "W-What??" my mother asked, not believing it at all. "Cora, have you gone insane..? First, you leave into the human world without permission, then you randomly come back, and now you scare everyone by saying that your father was stabbed in the heart?" "He was. Nobody noticed before because father's body had so many rotting holes that it wasn't noticeable. Mother, I just checked. There is a hole in father's heart. It isn't a rotting hole. That hole is pure clean and doesn't have any blobs of blood hanging around the edges of it. That hole was implanted there." My mother almost fainted. The workers had to hold her up to keep her conscious. I walked out of the room without another word. The disgusting blood was still dripping from my hand, but I didn't care much. There was no time to care about cleaning yourself. It was a matter of life and death. If we die, our whole generation would die. There would be no more of my family, since I am the only child. I am the one who is supposed to carry on the family's name. If I die, my family name will no longer be apart of hell's list. Hell would only be full of all the other Devils and their families. We will not be remembered...
