Rick's point of view: "WHAT?" "Dad... he... smashed the window near Mom's room." Adam shivered. "What about the guards?!" I angrily demanded as I got into the car. "Well, thanks to them," Adam sighed, "Mom was saved." "Thank God." I sighed in relief, "I'll be there in a minute." I said then hung up. Dad?! What does he want from US? "Mom!" I called out as I burst inside the house. Group of policemen surrounded my frail mother. Her face was ashen white. As soon as she saw me, she forced a smile on her face. "Hi dear." my mom greeted. Even though she was smiling, her still face shows fear and terror. Seeing my mom's facial expression, I felt my heart break into pieces. "What happened?" I angrily demanded. "I was just peacefully finishing my cross-stitch when I heard a tap on my window. Thinking it was a stray cat, I went near it. Then, with a hammer on his hand, your father smashed the window." my mother sadly narrated. I gasped. "Are you okay?" I asked, totally concerned. "Apart from the bruises and the wounds, I'm all right." my mom smiled. Ugh, that smile was really breaking my heart. "I've decided. I'll skip school and stay with you tomorrow." I confidently announced. "For what?" my mom asked, totally bewildered, "NO! I've already hired 5 more bodyguards to protect me. Go to school tomorrow." Even though I insisted of staying, my mom will still firmly reject the offer. Giving up, I just spent the whole night preparing for my grand confession to Chelsea. After finishing everything, I immediately fell asleep. "It's morning already!" my mom energetically patted my back to wake me up. "5 more minutes." I mumbled as I rolled once more. "What's this?" my mom asked as she held up the materials I will use for later's confession. "Don't touch that!" I snapped as I got out of the bed. My mom grinned. "Is it for a girl? Is she the one who accompanied you in the hospital last time?" "You'll know." I smiled and got ready for school. Ugh. My heart felt heavy as I stepped inside the school gate. I should have not went to school. What if my father breaks into the house AGAIN?! What if something bad happens to mom? Assuring myself that my mom has many bodyguards with her, I confidently walked to my class. "Hi Rick!" a girl called out. When I turned around to see who it was even though I know PERFECTLY who owns that kind of angelic voice, I saw Chelsea-more gorgeous than ever. "Something wrong?" she asked. "Why? No, nothing's wrong!" I assured her with a smile on my face. Chelsea frowned. "Don't lie to me, Rick." See? Only Chelsea can read my facial expressions. Dale and Lance couldn't even detect if something is bothering my mind. "Well, it's about my family..." I trailed off. "I'm so sorry!" Chelsea exclaimed as she cupped her mouth with her hands, "I should have not asked." I laughed. "No biggie. You actually brightened up my mood." Chelsea smiled. "That's good." Ugh! I can't wait anymore. I want Chelsea to be my girlfriend already. I want her to be mine. I can't wait for 5:00 anymore. Breaking the silence, Chelsea spoke. "So, I'll see you later?" "5:00 pm, rooftop." I confirmed. "Cool." she smiled as she walked away. Also smiling, I walked away. It would be great if Chelsea and I are already officially going out. Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Adam. "Hey, Adam!" I answered happily. "This is no time to be happy." Adam said solemnly. "Why?" I asked nervously. "Dad forced his way to the house again." Adam angrily announced. I gasped. "What about the bodyguards?" I asked. "They were all sent to the hospital. All of then were absolutely wounded." Adam said. His voice was getting angrier and angrier. "What about MOM?!" I demanded. My whole body was shaking. My palms were sweating. Silence. "ADAM! WHAT ABOUT MOM?!" I angrily exclaimed. "I don't know." Adam mumbled. "WHAT?! WHY DON'T YOU KNOW?!" I screamed madly. People began staring at me. I heard sniffs on the other line. "Adam?" I calmed down. This is bad. "M-mom is..." Adam trailed off. He was lightly sobbing. "Is?" I repeated impatiently. Adam took a deep breath. "Is... ...missing."
