His Life... in My Hands

Examination day. Oh my god! I felt like I was going to die from breathing so fast! I stood in line next to Kyle. We were at the very back. I looked at him and he smiled at me.

"My cousin said it was fine. You just have to wait at his station and it will be all good. I have to go back to class soon, the seniors aren't up until after the lunch period."

I smiled at him. "I understand. And you so much for this," I told him.

"Yeah no problem. You said your mother would kill you if you were to be sent home, right? Well, I can't let that happen so of course I'm going to take care of you."

I blushed. "Yeah..."

Alright. It was finally my turn. I looked at Kyle then he quickly went inside the 'tent' thing and came back out with a smile. He nodded towards me and I went inside.

"So you must be Janina Hydranzo," said the doctor. So this was Kyle's cousin. He looked no older than twenty-five.

"Um... yes I am."

"Alright. I am aware of your situation, Kyle told me all about it. So you can just sit and relax for the time being and wait, okay?"

"Okay. Thank you."

He glanced over at me. "I just... I don't understand why a young girl like you would even come here... Especially on your own."

"Haha... yeah. My brother, Carter... was supposed to go to this school, but he passed away so mother sent me instead since I look just like him..."

"Oh. I see. Well I do wish you luck, I mean... I hope you are not found out."

I smiled. "Thank you, I do too."

"You may go now," he said and he gestured his hand towards the door.

As I walked towards the door he grabbed my arm and stopped me quickly. I turned around to face him and he sighed.

"I just want to tell you something."

"Uh... um... okay..."

"Kyle... he's a nice kid. If he falls for you, don't reject him. Please don't hurt him... the last person he fell for... well some things happened. Even though you two have only known each other for a while, I can tell he cares very much about him, so... please don't reject him."

I blushed. "Okay I won't... but right now... I don't have such feelings for him, but I won't hurt him if he does tell me his feelings. I promise..." I said quietly.

I smiled nervously before leaving the station. I exhaled rather loudly then went back to morning classes. What exactly had I promised that guy?!
