I stared into his gorgeous, brown eyes. When I look at him, it's like watching an angel. "Tomorrow's the last day of school, Taylor," Cody said, caressing my cheek. "I know," I said, laying my head on his chest. I felt his heart skip a beat. "I'm excited! We finally get to spend more time together!" "Yeah," he said a little too sadly. "So much time..." He stared off into the distance. "What's wrong?" I asked, concerned. "Nothing," he said. I still looked at him questionably. "Nothing!" he said again, pulling me in for a long, tender kiss. "That's better," I said, laughing. He laughed with me. His laugh is perfect. I pull him in for another kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Oh, I get two?" he said, sarcastically. "This is a great day!" "Oh, shut up," I said, pulling him back in for another kiss. His lips were so soft, so perfect. Kissing him always made me want more. He looked at me with his brown eyes. "You're so beautiful," he said. I blushed, and laid my head back on his chest. I loved listening to his heart beat. It made me feel...safe. "I know we're only 17," I said. "But do you see...me in your future?" "I see no one but you," he said, stroking my hair. I loved when he did this. He kept doing this until I fell asleep in his arms, both of us laying down on the couch in his living room. I love him.
"Wake up, sleepyhead," said a masculine voice. My eyes fluttered open in confusion. "Don't worry, it's only me," said Cody, who was in the same position he was when I fell asleep. "What time is it?" I asked sleepily, rubbing my eyes. "Almost noon," he said. "I think we missed school," I laughed. "Yeah," he laughed. "Let's go do something today." "Sure," I said, smiling. "But only for you." "I think that deserves a kiss," he said, and pulled me in for a long, tender kiss. After we got ready, we headed out to the car. While driving, Avril Lavingne's song, When You're Gone, came on. "Of course, this song, huh?" I heard Cody mumble to himself. We went to a small restaurant in town called Renna's Pizza. "Do you remember this place?" he said hopefully. "Of course, I do," I smiled. "How could I forget?" FLASHBACK - 2 YEARS AGO I sat in the far corner booth in Renna's, with my head buried in my arms on the table. I had just found out that my parents had died in a massive shooting while at work. I was only 15. "May I take your order?" said a young man. I brought my head up. "Um, just a water, please," I said, choking back tears. He sat down across from me. "Are you okay?" he asked. I shook my head, starting to cry again. He came to my side of the booth and wrapped his arms around me. "Would it help if you talked about it?" he asked, concern filling his voice. I nodded. "M-my parents just died today. They died in a massive shooting at work..." I choked out. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry," he said. "What's your name?" "Taylor," I said weakly, and buried my head into his chest, still crying. "That's a beautiful name. I'm Cody, by the way. I hate to do this, but I have to go back to work," he said sadly. "I'm off in ten minutes. I'll be back before you know it!" Ten minutes later, the waiter came back with a water and a large bowl of spaghetti. "I thought you'd like to share it," he said with a crooked smile. It was adorable. "Sure," I said with a weak smile. After a few bites, we both pick up the same noodle, and unknowingly, we both start eating it. My lips were just inches away from his, and I stared into his eyes. They were a gorgeous brown. My favorite. I felt a spark go through me as his lips touched mine for the first time.

BACK TO CURRENT TIME Cody's point of view I led her to the table in the far corner of Renna's. She looked beautiful tonight. Her blonde hair glistened in the sunlight. "This is the table we sat at!" she exclaimed. "Yeah," I laughed. "Memory lane..." A young-looking waitress came up to our table. "I'm your waiter, Ashley. May I take your order?" she said. "Yeah, I'll have a water," said Taylor. "Me, too," I said. "And we'll have one large plate of spaghetti." "Great! Your order will be out in a few minutes!" said Ashley. When she was back in the kitchen, Taylor turned to look at me. "That's what food we got," she said, with tears welling up in her eyes. "No, no, no, don't cry," I said. "Please don't cry." There would be enough crying tonight when I told her... "I-I'm sorry," she said, wiping her beautiful eyes. She took my hand. "I love you." "I love you, too," I said, trying to choke back tears. I can't tell her now. It's not a good time. She came over to my side of the booth and laid her head on my chest, like she always does. She looks so sweet when she does that. I put my arms around her, and kissed the top of her head. The waitress coming back broke our silence. "Here's your waters," she said. "And here's the spaghetti." Then, she walked off. Taylor went back to her side of the booth and started eating. Then, by chance, we both picked up the same noodle. We both smiled, eating it until our lips were inches away. I didn't hesitate to put my lips against hers this time, knowing she will return my kiss. "What are the chances of that?" she laughed, pulling back. "I don't know," I laughed back. I looked into her eyes. It will be too hard to tell her tonight.
I'd think he's leaving. Or sick, perhaps ? But I'm sure it has something to do with then being apart. I think.
