Hi! I just wanted to clarify that anyone who had names deemed inappropriate after the policy update were in fact able to send in a help ticket and get a free name change. Only those who repeatedly changed their names to inappropriate things were not allowed to get free name changes. As for socials on under 17 accounts: ALL social features are limited, not 'some' As for content on under 17 accounts: ALL sexual and mature content is limited. If anything has slipped through the cracks please send a help ticket and they will fix it immediately. Also, I would like to state that I am not trying to persuade anyone to participate or not participate in OP's suggestion. I am just attempting to correct some facts so everyone is correctly informed. A 13+ rating does not reflect the reality of this game or the community built around it. If you’re going to put an age rating on the door, it should match what’s actually happening behind it. We love the game. That’s exactly why we’re speaking up. Don’t silence the community. Don’t ignore the concerns. Reconsider the 13+ rating. ATA, listen to your players. We deserve a rating that reflects the game we actually play. ✊
I been saying for years now that people need to actually fight with action instead of just talking about it. For ages people have been saying about how shit things have been getting. But then continuing to spend a ton of money on the game. But thats the reality of it. Theres always going to be enough people who will keep spending money coz they want to be the first to get the things or whatever. So ata will never actually give a fuck coz they gonna get their money regardless
I'm honestly just curious how the dates got chosen... why would yall choose right before ATA days (one of the biggest spending times of the year) to do this blackout? Personally I'd think doing it on such a time as ATA Days, where they're fully expecting to rake in the dough pretty heavily, would be one of the best times to do something like this. If you want an impact, hit 'em where it'll really hurt... ruin their celebration, make them see the impact in their wallets hard... don't piddle around it and restart spending just in time for such a large event like that. You want heard? You want seen? Make a REAL impact... then do this blackout during that time, not before, not after... DURING.

I honestly had NO idea that anyone who had their name changed could submit a help ticket and get a free name change. I will absolutely own being wrong about that part lol. I still think the way it was handled could have been much better though. I absolutely hate having to contact ATA through the ticket system, and in my experience I can be waiting 3–5 business days for a response. Personally, I think if ATA is the one changing an account's name because the rules changed, just automatically give that account one free name change at the same time. Problem solved. If someone then uses that free change to make another inappropriate name, that's on them and they can pay to change it after that. 😂 It just seems like it would have been a lot less hassle for everyone. I also appreciate you clarifying that ALL social features and mature/sexual content are restricted for under-17 accounts. I definitely don't want to spread incorrect information, so I'm glad you explained that. But who hasnt lied about their age? My feelings about the age rating itself still haven't changed though. Even knowing all of those protections are in place, I still personally don't think PIMD should be a 13+ game. After almost 14 years here and knowing what this game and its community have been like over the years, that young of an age rating just doesn't sit right with me. I genuinely want to believe this is true, but I changed name on an alt account to fit within the new ToU stuff, only for them to further change that after the fact, and they renamed the alt, silenced it, and when I sent in a ticket to try to get down to the bottom of it my ticket was completely IGNORED. I am ALL for stopping spending on this game at this point. It's gotten absolutely ridiculous
if you didn’t get a free name change you should have put in a ticket. Two of my alts had their names changed. One was actually silenced and the name change was free automatically. The second was warned and I put in a ticket stating I was directed to change my name. 48 hours later I git response stating that my free name change token was in place… and it was. The only thing that bothered me is the fact that there is no real standards in place for any of the changes. They gave two weeks notice about the channels then started mass silencing. They want your name changed, and with your experience added, there are at least three separate procedures for doing it, and I BELIEVE Shanks got his changed to “Renamed1234567” but had a free name change in place. That makes four methods. The game has been going downhill for years now (how many years have you been playing again?😏), but this might be the final nail in the coffin. and yes there are three types of mods I’ve seen. Those that hook up their friends, those that appear to be fair, and those that blindly tow the company line without a single thought in their green named head. I think the third type like the virtual power they wield, most likely due to their menial powerless lives…
The fact you didn’t know is a problem in and of itself and should get you an EC refund. funny how the only “official” response from ATA is an unpaid senior intern that just pops in to say “you’re wrong, and if you’re not, oops they will fix it”. now I know how people feel when I say “I work for the federal government, I’m here to help” 😂😂😂
One last thing and I hope I’m done with this conversation. It’s one thing to change someone’s name, or silence them for posting in the wrong channel in accordance with an arbitrary and completely subjective set of rules. But when you do not clearly make these rules known and chain fire these silences on the same people over and over again… At what point, at what metric, do you ATA, realize you’re the problem and not the community that has built and supported your game for 15+ years? Have the silences not turn since you implemented the puritanical rules for the underaged demographic you’re targeting? Do you not assess, repair, and reintegrate changes based on metrics that prove your game is headed in the wrong direction? what words are not allowed in names and why? Why is daddy not allowed but brat and baby are? What are the principles behind what you decide is an appropriate conversation to make “connections” in the connection chat channel? a little communication from the start would have gone a long way. Sadly, right now it looks as if ATAs attitude is “it’s our game, we will do whatever we want”. It’s no wonder Embracer groups revenue and player base have decline by 67% from 2025 to 2026. It’s straight up mis-management in one of at least one of their top 5 titles. And this is a group that owns Tomb Raider, Lord of the Rings, and Goat Simulator.
This has my support 1000000000000% I’ve already stepped back from my spending , ATA don’t listen to the players that have played this game for years I’ve sent 100s of ideas to improve the game and I’ve not seen one implemented all I get told is ( great ideas I’ll let the team know , personally I think they are great ) I’ve farmed players in the past that have abused the game by asking for x rated pictures in private messages and even reported this to Mods to be told there’s nothing they can do ! What a joke that is , ATA say there’s nothing they can do about private messaging, even after I sent SS of said messages , new players try and add me to ask if I want to earn money 😂 I don’t even add new players any more only players of 4 years and over now unless it’s to trade , the pub is a joke now so many underage and now it’s going to get worse ! The predators will have a field day now I’ve seen so many long standing players leave over the last few years !! Why because the game is going in the wrong direction
Bravo Zulu to the KY4F family for keeping this topic alive. The hypocrisy ATA shows towards you still entertains me. How they forced the change of your light hearted tag of Killing You 4 Fun to KY4F yet still put out a collection item the less-than-light-heartedly commands us to “Kill Them”. Almost as hypocritical of linking a 12/13+ rated game like PIMD with a 16+ rated game like Single City 😂😂😂
Coz realistically theres gonna be stuff that comes out that most people want so dont want to miss out on it and thats why things will never change. To many people with fomo. To make ata listen everyone needs to do it and not just a few days. For a whole month at least.
At that point then it shows it isn't about actually wanting to make an impact to get heard then, in my opinion. ATA isn't going to pay attention to a brief week beforehand, they probably anticipate that because people would know ATA Days is coming. What they WON'T expect is that week or however long it is not being as much of an earning as it normally is and as much as they're anticipating it to be. As I said... hit them where it will hurt, where it will get noticed. (Edit to add) Yeah maybe a week wouldn't be enough, but doing it on such a week that they're expecting a huge profit will be far more noticeable than a week they likely aren't expecting as much income.
