LIMITED-TIME CONTENT 🎺 Black History Month 2024 🎺

  1. I can imagine it’s probably difficult since there is a balance of creating an avi that is representative but not a caricature of the group it intends to represent.

Finding something that meets everyone’s expectation for such an important cultural celebration will definitely continue to be difficult, and I hope that everyone will continue to help the progress.

  2. She felt that way because of how you worded it. You should definitely take some time to read over your post before posting it because it definitely came off as you accusing her. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

  3. Maybe its difficult for some but the reason I think it isn't is because Dani was able to point out similarities pretty quickly which would help avoid repeats. ATA can possibly reach out to her if they do find it difficult.

  4. I'm not sure the specifics but I would like to think the Black creator ATA brings on to collab has more artistic freedom than just being told what to illustrate. It looks like they also collabed with Nneka Meyers, an illustrator, last year and 2022. However in 2020 and 2021 it looks like they collaborated with Taneka Scott, who is not an artist and is instead a comic writer, editor, and publisher, so I would assume she did not draw those art and instead collaborated more on coming up with a concept. I would assume the same would stand for Nneka Meyers' contributions even though she is an artist. It seems like both ATA and the Black creators they collab with feel like these concepts year-to-year are different enough to suffice, and since they consult with creators for multiple years in a row I do agree that they should all have a good idea of previous iterations as to not repeat.

I'm curious as to how this can be rectified in the future as to continue to allow Black creators have some semblence of artistic freedom and choice on what they want to represent in the game, while also being different and unique enough to please the playerbase. I'm disappointed (but I understand) why Dani thought me asking for her opinion was not appropriate, but I still do want to visualize some sort of solution that could maybe end up pleasing everyone. Yes, new concept ideas have been discussed already but I was interested more specifically on how ATA could continue the collab with Black creators in which it appears they get creative input, rather than specifically just listing different themes.

  5. That also sounds like a good idea, especially since Dani is clearly already trusted by the dev team since she is a moderator. I'm sure there are other Black mods that would be willing to offer some sort of feedback. Sort of like beta testing?

  6. Every year is the same. No one will ever be happy and always has an issue. Can't really speak for others but this is why I avoid forums. There's always so much negativity and aggression

  7. This is so sad ATA BHM gets the shortest month of the year , y'all could've and should've done better by us, and of course to make matters worse you put the only black female avatar in the hunt in the box smdh 🤦🏾‍♀️considering its BHM could've made her easier to obtain , thanks ☺️👍🏽
