Think people tend to forget that creating art is hard-- especially when you're pumping it out every 1-2 weeks. There's gonna always be hits and misses, can't please everyone. Although you can tell whoever designed these avis enjoyed making them and they seemed to have done their research-- feels spot on to the 70s vibe to me. I do think this hunt doesn't make a good new year hunt and some of the furniture is ehh, but I enjoy the idea and the female avis are groovy ☮
I mean just because you didnt like the hunts, doesn't mean everyone else didnt either 🥸 Everyone has a different view on what's a "miss" and what's a "hit".
i think the harsh criticism is deserved imo, christmas & new years have always been some of the most anticipated themed hunts. they definitely dropped the ball with this one. i’m on the side of the main story avi being the only saving grace from this hunt. thank god it’s only a week long.
and even the main story avi isnt even THAT good. its sub-par but because everything else is utter crap it comes out looking like a leaderboard avi thats actually accessible for the majority.
The fact that they added the 2b item in as a mistake and just removed it without a word instead of keeping it in as an apology is very telling. It's as tacky as the avatars. As an artist I love the energy put into all the hunts, I see the creativity behind it, but I also see how disconnected the creators are from the people they're making items for. There's little to no community engagement so it's not surprising at all that everyone is disappointed.
*sigh* time to leave for another 6 months. Maybe then the hunts will get better and the avis won’t be dogshit
Yes but it should be a concern when literally the majority of people don’t like the hunt. This isn’t just a vocal minority hating the hunt. Like, a lot of people do 🥸
Everyone needs to understand that coming up with so much new content every week is exhausting. Not only it’s a challenge to make everything different from previous hunts and from scratch, but also have the mental capacity of not being "uninspired", thing every single artist deals with at some point. This is the theme of the hunt, I see you guys saying the male avatars look very feminine and ugly. Mind you, this is how they dressed for in the 70s and honestly, I’m impressed of how well it’s recreated. So yes, the theme is very well executed. Although it’s not my cup of tea either, that doesn’t mean I will not respect someone’s work.
That’s self sabotage for them then. They have the community they can get ideas and even help from, but they almost never listen to us even with the surveys for feedback they give out. And considering and how much “inspiration” they get from real life, especially how many times they’ve literally copied outfits before, it’s not really an excuse to make something look this bad. I get that you’re a mod, but that doesn’t mean you should white knight everything ata does 😕
retweet. i hate to say it but it’s very clear that the majority of people do not like this hunt & are expressing that, which is their right so i dont get why mods are getting offended on behalf of ata. There will always be criticism but when the criticism overshadows the positive reviews you clearly have a problem that your player base isn’t fond of. you guys always fall back on the “its hard to pump out art every other week” excuse and honestly i’m tired of it. if the artist or artists feels uninspired every other week then maybe they should get new artists.
I think the biggest problem with the hunt is that it's just not new years. I personally was looking forward to the dark neon type furni and avis they ONLY release on NEW YEARS. And they just... didn't. Like other people said if the hunt wasn't for new years it would prob be fine, but when people expect something big for an event and it doesn't happen they get upset. Like pls correct me if I'm wrong but this was not what I was looking forward too or expecting and it's just not like their new year events in the past and people have every right to be upset about it if they want to.
I actually take this back, often I loose track of time and someone brought up that it's New Year's. Completely shifted my thoughts. I love the fun vibe finally, however I am super not into going BACK in time for a NEW YEAR. I also skimmed trying to find my comment, and I agree with the majority that this hunt is not it. Everyone's got good points on why this hunt isn't great as well. The only part that caught my attention is finally some bright colour and fun. Maybe put out a contest for the best hunt idea/design and winner gets their hunt made real. Maybe that'll help with your creativity, finally listening to your player base and it'll give your design team a short break / maybe inspiration.
Its honestly not even a good excuse that they pump out a lot of work so they might be uninspired. Extend the hunt duration then. Make monthly main hunts with avatars and weekly hunts with stat items and new items. New parties for weekly hunts. New incentives. Give yourself more time to engage with the community, find out what they're interested in, and actually give them something they'd like instead of shoveling sugar coated cereal down our throats and expecting us to pretend we can't taste the lack of substance. There's so much potential constantly thrown away in this abysmal cash grab of an app that continues to stay afloat due to a blindly dedicated fanbase.
