I messaged him yesterday and then he showed up today with no warning. He just showed up without asking when was a good time or even if today worked or if I wanted to schedule for another day. omigod. I didn't let him in because I was so perplexed.

Yes. Very strange. Thank god you lived in an apartment and he didn't know the unit number. I'd be uncomfortable if it was a house and they had the exact address after that.
I had a similar experience a month ago where I told them my address and then they kept asking for personal info, like stuff they didn't need to know to come buy a used record player from me. So I told them I would just sell to someone else and to leave me alone, then they showed up 2 hours later and rang my buzzer for half an hour and sent me weird messages saying I was gonna be sorry. So now I don't tell anyone my unit number 😅
