Did anyone notice how ATA inflated the price of everything by 12.5%? That after inflating the price of everything in every terms. Shame on you ATA
For e.g 1050 ecs that cost $100 now costs $112.5, and it's not just that, they are also charging 10% extra in conversion rates. E.g if your base currency is $1=50, an item worth $1 will cost 55 in your base currency
I assume these price changes aren't ATA directly and are instead Apple making the decision and ATA increasing prices for Google Play for consistency. This has happened multiple times in the past, although ATA used to be more transparent about it. Price changes in 2014 Price changes in 2015 Price changes in 2016 Price changes in 2017
A.t.a came under new ownership recently without ever announcing it to us. https://techcouver.com/2020/11/18/a-thinking-ape-acquired-by-embracer-group/ https://embracer.com/release/embracer-group-acquires-a-thinking-ape-entertainment/
Oh yeah I saw that on their instagram. Would them operating independently still warrant price increases? Or would that just mean they wouldn't have any game-related oversight from DECA???
A lot of things seem somewhat outsourced. I wouldn't be surprised if that kind of pricing would be modified by some higher entity. No idea how any of it works or even if ecs are more expensive than they used to be. Perhaps it's just down to the devs' choice.
Yeah pretty much this, all apps on app store do this more frequently than one might think. it isnt just ata. apple takes a good chunk of the revenue from in app purchases so to make some income, in app prices sky rocket.
This also depends on where you live and what the digital tax laws are. My state taxes online purchases of digital goods, so the $99.99 EC/DNs pack is $106.99.
The gaming portion will be overseen by ATA, aka the operations. The financial and marketing aspects will be taken over by DECA
