  1. No I’m talking American football which has been linked to CTE. There’s lots of sports they’re finding that have negative long term affects on the body. The people participating in these sports know the risks. It’s what they choose to do, and a lot of the fighters train almost their entire lives for that. No ones forcing anyone to watch it. But to say it’s revolting? That’s an opinion you or her are entitled to have. It’s also an opinion I disagree with.

  2. But I said it is animalistic. Sports aren't animalistic. I don't have a problem with people choosing to do it, their body their lives. But it is animalistic

  3. The only fights I watch are called “hockey games” but I don’t care for hockey

    Sport:
an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

they train, they practice, they compete against eachother. It’s a sport.

  5. This is the problem with you. You believe what they tell you. Try using your own reasoning for a change

  6. Oh shit you’re right... someone must have brainwashed me into thinking that learning a skill, perfecting that skill, and then performing that skill against others for money is a sport... where tf were you to help me use my “reasoning” 😑 you sound so fucking stupid, honestly. Like never fail, on a regular basis. You try to find ways to make your opinions seem like fact. I can accept that you don’t like fighting, that’s ok. But to say it’s not a sport? It’s far more technical than what you apparently believe. These people all have a specific style they’ve perfected over YEARS, whether that be striking, grappling, etc. They all have specific types of martial arts training, from jiu jitsu, to kickboxing, Muay Thai... they train with different people, all over the world. There’s incredibly strict rules during a fight, about what kind of strikes you can and can’t do to someone that’s on the ground, what direction you’re allowed to swing an elbow, you’re not allowed to hit the throat, or pull hair. If your fingers are outstretched they can point up but not straight out because then you risk eye pokes. The list of rules is extensive, and it’s been constantly changing over the years. They fight other people in a certain weight class, if they appear to struggle or become sick trying to drop to much weight they get pulled from the fight. There’s a scoring system in place that awards points for takedowns, takedown defenses, significant strikes, pressing forward, ground control, etc.... it’s not taking the first two people that sign up and locking them in a cage to see who comes out with less injury. Can it get pretty brutal? Yea, it can. Does it always? No. It is by definition, a sport.
