I posted awhile back about something I saw in the news and the debate got a bit heated lol I don’t think this one should get that way but who knows... I read through the news everyday. Mostly skimming, until I see an article I’d like to read. Sometimes I read some that just seems to be ridiculous because I’m curious. And today one struck me. A member of a Christian rock band announced that he no longer believes in god. This story was covered by news outlets from fox to cnn to people. I just have to ask... why is this something the public needs to know about? I don’t see this as something that needs to be covered as news, especially because it’s neither hurting nor benefiting anyone, at all.
It’s more gossip than news to me personally. But I think if that was my religion I might have found the idea more important.
Most news outlets like to demonize Christianity. Fox probably picked it up as an "awww that's sad" story And CNN probably picked it up as a "HA! We told you Christianity is stupid" story. Slow news day
Well it’s a big deal in the Christian community, I thought my mom was gonna have a heart attack when I told her I didn’t believe in god anymore.
I think it’s unfortunate that we demonize any religion to be honest. Especially living in a place with religious freedom, I don’t think that’s always respected the way it should be
I’m a gay Christian ✝️ not living in America a Christian from America thinks gay is a choice and can be helped with some gay shock thereapy god can’t fix anything coz god doesn’t exist... American Christians are just angry people
everything about religion in its current form is exclusive. the antithetical of freedom. the archetypal constraint. grow up
Shame that those illiterate fools can’t read the text as it’s intended to. As a whole. Under the guidance of warmth, kindness, and equality before the overseer. The New Testament is an inspiring piece of work. That doesn’t preach hate. Preaches the opposite.
I think the way the majority of Christians treat gay people is fucking terrible. How would you consider yourself a Christian if you don’t believe in god?
Unreserved faith in the Juda-Christian God isn’t requisite to be accepted into the good side of the afterlife in modern teachings.
If you live in the US, then you live in a place that gives you the freedom to practice whatever religion you choose. As well as gives you the freedom to, in my case, not practice any of them. It also gives YOU the freedom to be a dick. Cool it, it’s not that serious
