As much as people are dumb for being so god damn obsessed that they violently threaten others, i think a certain amount of responsibility it placed upon the people they are obsessing with. People who have that much sway over others should not overlook the influence they have and express more often that extreme behavior like telling others to kill themselves is unacceptable. Etc etc
I feel like acknowledging it is a PR nightmare, and they're probably kept ignorant of their negative impacts or told their positives far outweigh them. They're just role models.
I dunno, i feel like they must know to some extent the impact these fandoms cause. And even if it would be a PR nightmare to acknowledge it, i feel like the decent thing to do as a idol is to publicly condemn that kind of behavior. If they try to ignore it or turn a blind eye, what kind of role models are they?? Tbh this is coming from someone who dislikes pop culture in general. I've never understood how people stan celebrities so intensely. It's absurd
This post is old, but Iām sort of a new member here and just discovered this and I want to comment on this. So please bare with me for bringing up this post two months later. In my opinion, I believe thereās still so many fan wars because some fans just want people to acknowledge that their group or artist whoever they ultimately stan is the ābest.ā When people disagree, theyāll perceive is as negative, which could lead to them spewing out hate. Also any incidents that can relate to that where fans would post something like āmaybe if this person shouldāve stan this group, then this wouldnāt have happened,ā is terrible. I know you said you saw BTS fans post about it, but there are times when itās a troll imitating a BTS āfanā to make them look even more terrible. Either way, they are not true fans of BTS if they do post that because itās hateful, and definitely something no artist would stand for. I agree, fan wars do give a terrible image of the fandom and at times even the group. My ult group is BTS, and there was a time where I didnāt stan them and I was seeing a lot of negativity coming from their āfansā. From seeing this, it made me not want to even try to give BTS a listen. Fast forward a year or two later, I listen to one of their songs and actually enjoy it. I donāt like fan wars or any toxicity from the āfansā so I tend to just report and go on my way. I donāt like to interact with it because itās annoying and difficult to get through some of them. But I wouldnāt say Iām not apart of their fandom because I am, I love supporting them and interacting with other armies (who are unproblematic). Yes there is a lot of negativity in BTSās fandom, but thereās plenty in other groups too. Itās just more noticeable for BTS because their fandom is way too big. Iām not good with words, so if any of my words come off as offensive or negative, just know I genuinely did not mean for that. I tried explaining my perspective on this whole thing, so please donāt twist my words š„ŗšš Also hope everyone is safe & healthy !!! Most importantly happy āØ
Tbh I agree with everything u r saying. I didn't go into more detail with this thread due to the fact that my forums doesn't let me type without deleting some words. Idky. But I would've actually made bullet points on every single thing to makemore sense in all of this
