They really should rename the catch-all "birth control" because it has ignorant crackheads thinking you only can take it for birth control reasons (despite there being a multitude of others problems and conditions it can be prescribed for)
That’s actually a really good point. My mom has to take the pill because she had a cyst form in her uterus awhile ago, not because she’s avoiding raising another me. (Although that’s probably a plus)
I know it can treat endrometriosis and CPOS, too. I also know people that take it because they have extremely bad cramps, unusually heavy flows, et cetera. It's prescribed very frequently for a lot of conditions or problems relating to the female reproductive system. Most often, when talking to other people prescribed some form of birth control, the actual birth control part of it is always described, like, "oh, yeah, and no kids is a plus, too." I don't know many people that are taking it specifically and only for birth control. I am, but I really think I'm in the minority there.
