Soooooo my gross af manager wouldn't stop asking me on dates and inviting me back to his apartment after work no matter what I told him. And then after I stopped being friendly to him because he took that as me offering my body he decided to try to fire me on Friday. I almost didn't go back but the general manager contacted me and asked to hear what had happened from my perspective and now I still has one of my jobs and Brad-uh-Lee is in troubles for sexual harassment. So yeah. Suck it, Brad β Dis mah happy dance
I dislike it when things like that happen. It's so distasteful, immature and overall just uncalled for. I'm glad you got to keep your job! You go, dude!
Is he still going to be your manager, or are one of you being transferred out? He definitely shouldn't still be in a position of power if he abuses it like that... but it's going to make things super awkward if he stays, and I really really hope he doesn't make things difficult for you. Jerks like that tend to find "other reasons" to reduce hours, give warnings, and delegate shitty tasks to someone after this type of thing, with the motive of driving them to quit, or be fired. I've experienced it myself, as have a few friends. π£
He's still going to be a manager. He's definitely still going to be an asshat but I already intend to leave come April so as long as I can stick it out til then, it shall be fine.
My sister worked at a retirement home during high school, in the dining hall as a server. One of the chefs, who was in his late 20s or early 30s, apparently kept making explicit sexual comments about my sister (who keep in mind is underage at the time) to male coworkers. Some of them were so uncomfortable by this chef's commentary that they told Shannon what he was saying about her. She felt very uncomfortable working with the chef now knowing that he was saying gross stuff about her, so she spoke with one of her supervisors. She went through the motions of getting a meeting with one of the higher ups, and telling what happened. Some of the male coworkers that the chef had talked to verified her story. So management acknowledged something happened, and promised to do something about it. They were able to adjust the schedules so Shannon and the chef didn't work together. She was kind of disappointed he even stayed on payroll at all, but at least she didn't have to see him. Fast forward a few months, and it was my sister's last day at the job because she was going to start attending college and was going to get an on-campus job. Apparently, the chef was substituting that day for another chef and so my sister had to work with him, and didn't know until she arrived for her shift. She was super upset by this. The manager (who was privy to the situation between Shannon and the chef) working the kitchen / dining area that night told my sister to do something that involved her to work in even closer quarters with the chef (I forget what exactly the job was). And then the manager gave my sister a hard time when she asked not to do it. Since it was her last day she didn't put up much of a fuss after that, and nothing happened when she worked with the chef. But she was very upset that it happened and it ruined her last day at a job she actually really enjoyed. Long story short, I'm glad the higher-ups have done something about Brad (however minute it may be) and I hope they stick with keeping him in check since they decided to give him a slap on the wrist.
@Muschi I'm sorry that happened to your sister and that her last day was kind of tainted by that chef. Brad probs won't stay in check but I am attempting to build a thicker skin so I shall consider it a time for me to build my patience. And if he takes it too far hopefully the general manager cares enough to do something.
