What’s your favourite song/music Hiyo 💆🏼♀️ I haven’t posted anything in a while so I’m being sad and doing an attempt at a conversation starter... What music do you listen to in what situation and why? Is it linked to your country? It might be you’re English, it’s coming up to Remembrance Sunday and the LSO playing the iconic enigma just makes you break down, or some completely different genre and reason. For me, I’m a Scottish lass through and through, and my mum always used to sing lullabies to me in Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic). Unfortunately he language is dying, as why would anyone use it? But the songs are beautiful, coming from a history of waulking and strife, the songs were passed by word of mouth, as these kind of songs usually are. So if you want a lullaby which is heart wrenchingly beautiful but sad, have a listen to “ba mo leanabh”, and “fear a bhàta”. I want to find more music of all styles and genres, so send them across, whether they be English or in your local dialect.
I like lofi music when I'm studying or cleaning or just want background noise. No special reason, it's just calming
Anything besides scream-o, metal and slow country songs. It’s not my cup of tea. Other than I don’t mind my playlist jumping from rap, to pop, to r&b, to rock back to rap etc
To be fair I quite like country songs where people have made an effort, but you get a load of cheesy stuff that is just utter ass, they aren’t good
Why? What draws you to it? Because I’m not a massive fan of metal, but I understand why other people like it, maybe I’ll learn to
I normally listen to a lot of alternative music but towards the end of the summer I got really into old school music again. I think it’s because it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I bonded with mom by listening to it, I played guitar hero for hours while I learned the beat of the songs.
What does old school music mean to you? For me that means early genesis and stuff, kinda prog rock, musically really interesting stuff. What kind of alternative?
Idk I'm not aloud listen to death metal for long tho only 2mins max max coz it makes me wanna fight idk why
I like metal music, too, but I can't really describe what draws me to it. It just makes me wanna groove, baby!
I could listen to Jhené Aiko’s lyrics, Moonchild’s textures, and Jacob Collier’s harmonic genius everyday for the rest of my life and probably be ok.
Here are some of my favourite songs rn. I lied about the lofi ig. of my most recently top played, none are lofi.
Uh I’m not sure it’s kinda hard to describe. I listen to almost everything. Old music is anything from 70’s - 90’s with some real old like 60’s maybe 50’s songs thrown in. And then alternative is kinda anything that’s not mainstream I guess? Idk it’s hard for me to define my music taste because it’s just so mixed and vast.
