Not sure if it has been said before and not going to put much effort into this thread... but... How about a university hunt with items, avis, and furniture that resemble actual (brick and mortar well known colleges) university themes colors and mascots and offer actual scholarships to some of the winners using funds “donated” during that particular hunt to help some deserving families send a student to pursue higher education. I apologize in advance if there is some rule against developers being able to hold a contest/giveaway of this sort as well... just had an idea and decided to let forums run with it.... TL;DR Do you think PIMD offering a scholarship award would be a good idea to help promote the app or no? Discuss, troll, derail... be idiots... whatever...
Great question! The student/applicant/contestant/winner gets to use the scholarship using the guidelines that ATA has set for its use (Hopefully towards tuition at an accredited university of their choice). ATA get credited with helping students/app users to pursue finishing their academic goals. I think it would be a better way to promote the app than a 22 pack abdominal customizer. These are just rough thoughts I’m throwing out there into the PIMD universe for discussion... I suggested scholarship specifically as opposed to the typical fundraisers for causes done in the past because idk... this is directly related to higher education and ironically on this “college themed app” I haven’t seen much support towards academics. It may have been present and I missed it... I just can’t recall it at the moment. Still, I think most people would appreciate something in this direction.
Good idea in theory (with enough exposure would bring lots of new players!) but as stated above ATA loves their money and likely wouldn’t give out much if any. Another issue is purely the amount of money spent to get on the top of the leaderboard (that’s who I’m assuming is your ‘winners). Much better ways to put that money to use for people trying to get into college than spending hundreds of dollars just trying to get to the top (or probably more since many people would want to be top making it more and more expensive to hold that elusive title). My best friend is in community college and her semester tuition is cheaper than what it costs to get on top leaderboard. Needy families are NOT who would be able to afford to win it 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
When I was young... I had a hard time understanding the concept/strategy of taking a loss to get a win. This is going to be redundant because I am going to explain this a few different roundabout ways. There are some people in this world that hold on to things that don’t really help them in life so tightly, that they wouldn’t open their hands enough allow you to give them something that would actually improve their life significantly for fear of losing a material possession or attitude that is hindering their successes. Every return requires an investment of some sort, and for many companies their best investment is in their people, not just their employees, but their customers as well. I’ve always heard that an educated customer is the best customer. I am aware that this isn’t the exact perspective that idiom was made to reflect but hear me out.... You can lose a battle and still win the war. Try not to be short-sighted. Doubts and complacencies rarely ever bring positive change, but hope and exploring possibilities frequently spark the innovations that revolutionize entire industries and make things better for everyone. Would you rather be surrounded by stable people with positive goals or fickle people with degenerative addictions? For those that are “money motivated”... One website that started as a bookstore for a certain company in recent years breached the one trillion dollar market cap value... that’s over 10 times the value of the entire adult industry globally btw... I realize it’s just one example Might sound a lil preachy/judgmental but I hope you’re picking up what I’m putting down a lil...
Not at all... the winners/scholarship recipients would have nothing to do with leaderboard at all... (not sure where you drew that conclusion from what I’ve stated but ok) while it may be nice for ATA to recognize top contributors that choose not to conceal their identities... this scholarship would be open to those who demonstrate some sort of need or have met the application requirements... which I think most would expect to include some sort of inability to cover the costs of tuition without financial aid or scholarship. I hope this... and my response to Ty-Luka addresses your concerns.
Bro Bro you should know me by now say normal words n not littler that's way to much words think I maybe almost got half way almost before gave up
Another great question! If I were in charge of making the application, I would expect to have some information requested/confirmed the same as most scholarship applications... such as college/university enrolling/attending... some sort of confirmation that the institution has accepted the applicant/is accredited (with an official letter head from the university registrar or similar entity of course to prevent fraud). Then maybe something simple for the contest like maybe posting an example of ways that the applicant(s) is/are serving the community/committing to their studies/future goals or demonstrating positive/helpful behaviors in the game itself. This combined with a completed application, that would include an essay section questioning the applicants motivations and the reason why higher education is so important for those individuals to pursue... and also asks about the reason for need/help the scholarship would provide towards the applicants scholastic endeavors would be evaluated and selected based on the compelling strengths of all categories considered for the award. The reason why I would use the university accreditation and acceptance itself as a guideline is to prevent more information being from requested than necessary and to allow more room for continuing students/late bloomers to compete and also to prevent students from being tricked into potentially paying for and attending an unaccredited university.
