Tryna motivate myself to write the HS thread.

 

Trying to finish my reading for school and then I have to make flashcards. Am sleepy and about to pass out

 

Doing my assignment on this man called Bersntein who for the longest time I thought was spelled Bernshtein and like.. What were their parents thinking? How do you even say it? BURRS-NN-TEIN. That's such a stupid name you can barely say it.

Also I just realized that the website I was looking at mispelled his name. It was meant to be Bernstein.

Welp.

Edit: In retrospect, I should be the last person to insult someone's name for being hard to say.

 

It's -stein is a common suffix put on German names, especially Jewish German names. It's pronounced Shtein and means rock or Stone.

It shares its origin with Stone.
