Exactly. Acting like all tap water everywhere is healthy γΌ and even safe for consumption in some cases γΌ is very, very ignorant.
Yes, yes. We have floods that will bust all sorts of pipelines and make a mess, and the water will be contaminated with fecal matter, as well as all sorts of disgusting things. You can get a serious illness if you drink tap water willy-nilly. My mom lives somewhere that it is also necessary to boil the water, because they have gotten sick from the tap water. ππ»ββοΈ The city even tells everyone to.
I've lived in places like this... Has it stopped me, absolutely not, have I gotten sick from any of those places, no. I have not, like even sometimes family tells me not to drink it, but I still do π€·ββοΈ Maybe I'm just a medical mystery
Yeah where I live we have absolutely disgusting water in the city, and it is a huge problem of safety to a lot of people.
This is really stupid, but I never realized floods could actually damage the tap water quality. Yikes, that's good and horrifying to know. A few of my friends who came from Indonesia, where tap water is still not fit for drinking, and are now in Aussie actually still buy bottled water despite the tap water here being fit for consumption. They say that they dislike the taste of the tap water. On the other hand, most locals that I know of actually drink tap water and prefer the taste of tap water over bottled water. I feel like at this point, people just want water that feels like "home", whatever that means. It still boggles me how water, the absolute neutral liquid, has a taste. And it also confuses me as to why I find boiled water, which is meant to be healthier than tap, tasting worse than tap water.
Ohooohooo, isn't that fun? This is what I love reminding people when they try to say "minerality" isnt a flavor (tis a huge debate in the wine world). Water picks up flavors from it's containers, too, including the pipelines used. Metal pipes vs clay pipes leave a very different tap water. In the industry, they will set up whole water tastings. It's mind boggling, haha, yes.
Hey when I was a kid we were drinking water from the hose, like what's the difference, plus we were eating mexican candy that had lead in it, and maybe ever since flint it's now a huge deal about lead intake, so people have stopped all together and like have become de-immunized from it and I guess I never really stopped π€·ββοΈ
LMAO, "water tastings". First-world problems, eh. Also, wowie. I sorta knew about the plastic bottle thing, but not about the pipes itself. Do metal pipes bring less contamination, or are they really just a matter of taste?
Yes π first world problems at their finest π They mostly bring less contamination. Also are harder for roots to break and cause issues. I personally prefer the clay, although I've only been exposed to clay plumbing in very old, non renovated constructions.
De-immunized stomachs are pretty interesting. I used to eat a bunch of local street food with my family back home, but now whenever we go back for the holidays, we have to sorta brace our buttholes for some action. π’ Not sure if I've ever had water from clay plumbing. Does it taste more...earthy? π€
I've got a stomach of steel, I love spicy food, the spicier the better. The craziest part, is I'm white π I mean it might, that sounds interesting, I kinda wanna try now π€ I love how this thread has been derailed into an actually decent conversation π€£
EXCUSE ME WATER IS GREAT and you're like 80 percent water so you're great too ig. Did you know that people who love spices tend to like it because of the pain instead of the taste? Ye idk about you but that lowkey seems masochistic π Oh, you know I just realized. Aint tea and coffee considered earthy water? They literally grew out from the earth.
My bathroom sink is the only water in my house that Iβll actually consume. My kitchen sink water is super cloudy. Not sure if thereβs tons of tiny bubbles or if itβs whatever they treat the water with where I live. π
I like the flavor, but I always regret it the next day Spoiler: TMI Warning π©π₯ You are so right! But I think clay has like special minerals in it so it might effect the taste π€£
Yes, haha, exactly. π€ Hmm, funny, I like earthier wines, too. It was so much more than I expected from you crazy forumers *tear* Hmm, I'm voting tea and coffee as earthy water β
that's so weird thoo, you would think that they come from the same pipe, but apparently not? Ah, the pain of loving something that gives you the butterflies in the wrong spot. :') New business idea: get those special clay minerals without the contamination and sell it to you. π
