  1. Hmmm I'm more social at work than at school but makes sense

  2. Well I mean I was social at work too but I was paid to do that 🤣 Due to school though I was able to be my own goof self without and rules or professionalism holding me back.

  3. It was! I had mozzarella sticks for an app, and for my entree I had honey pepper chicken tenders and 4-cheese mac 'n cheese w/ bacon bits. And a Pepsi to drink.

  5. I mean, sometimes. It's something that takes up time. also most of my classes are interesting to me so I am lucky.

  6. My grandmother complained the whole time and argued with my grandfather. :( In her defense tho, the restaurant we decided to go to ended up not being very wheelchair-accessible so it involved a lot of... adjustments made so she could actually eat at a table. And then it put her in a sour mood for the rest of the lunch.

  7. Oh lameness. I can see why the food was the highlight then. That's so odd to me that there are still restaurants and stuff that aren't wheelchair accessible.

  8. Yup. And the hostess got slightly irritated when my grandmother wouldn't sit in a chair (she can't??? get out of her wheelchair???). Told her she would "deal with us" later, and went and sat five other groups (some of which came in after us). My grandmother still has a tough time dealing with the fact that she is in a wheelchair now, and instead of getting upset, she just got irritated and got short tempered.

It was an Applebee's, and we had not been to that particular location. Last time we went to one, there was no problem with accessibility so we didn't think this one would have issues, esp since it's a recently opened one. Oh well.

  9. :,) I wake up at 3:45a for work most days so waking up for a 7a class shouldn’t be a struggle but I have been wrong before smh

  11. Some of y’all think school as in set schedules and all
But I think about college. I don’t get up till 10am and get out at 4pm... and the other 2days is 12pm-4pm
Plus college is chill pic ya own everything...
And there is event me every day...
So I’m down with school starting...

  12. I'm p sure most ppl here who reference school are talking about post-secondary. But it depends on what you're taking, most ppl get to arrange their schedules. but the fine arts students and engineering students at my school are all given a set schedule each year or else the classes would fill up too quick and they'd never graduate.

  13. My sister starts her first year of college/uni next week. She was allowed to pick what classes she wanted to take for her first semester (from a list of required/recommended courses) but apparently they assigned what times she would be attending. She all got afternoon/evening classes and she's kinda upset because she functions better in the morning. :(

  14. Idk what you are saying because Ik college is you choose your schedule after freshman year 1st semester... they give you a list of what classes you need and you go to advisors and put all classes in a shopping cart... then if those classes are taken then u gotta find new ones... and my major definitely is one of those types to get filled up fast... veterinarian and biomedical sciences and I minor in business...

  15. I am a university student. Universities/colleges all work differently, believe it or not. And a major is different from a set program. I legit just said engineering and fine arts students. Literally everyone else gets to choose their classes at my uni. Even first years.

  16. That's lameness. Evening classes are the worst.

  17. When I was in my first semester (before I dropped out obvi), so 2 years ago, I signed up for a night class (ended around 9pm) because I'm fairly awake during that time and didn't think I would have an issue. It was only once a week, too.

In the middle of the first class we had, I got a campus alert on my phone (cuz I signed up for them cuz I'mma nerd) that there had been a rape in the women's bathroom down the hall from my classroom about an hour prior (while I was also still in class) and to contact campus security if we had any information that would be helpful. :|

Literally was terrified to walk to the parking lot after class to go home. Luckily when I left class, there was still quite a few police around and while I don't necessarily feel safe around them, I definitely felt like a perv wouldn't try something while they were still patroling. So I didn't have any issue walking to my car.

My parents almost made me drop the class, understandably.

  18. What the actual fuck, that would make me so paranoid. As far as I am aware, things like that don't happen often on my campus. I've always felt super safe no matter what time it was. My uni is mostly known for suicides and they had to close down one of the science buildings for 2 days because a person (who didn't go to school but was dating a student) broke in after-hours and jumped off the building. But other than the sad vibes cuz ppl constantly offing themselves, my uni is berry safe feeling.

  19. The rest of the semester and my two remaining semesters at school, I never got another notif about it. But I know a lot of victims don't rly go to the authorities, so if there were it was probably unreported. Altho it is a community college so I don't think the statistics are as high because no one is living or partying on campus (don't quote me on that cuz idk officially, just making a presumption).

I always felt safe on campus, other than that one night. Definitely did not sign up for any night classes again... although for various reasons, not just the assault.
