I just listened to "Fear Inoculum" (the song, not album) and I feel like it had the soothing vocals of A Perfect Circle but the heavier instrumental of Tool. While I love A Perfect Circle as well, I am slightly concerned that Maynard James Keenan might not have as easy of a time getting back to the grittier vocals he used for Tool way back when vs his A Perfect Circle vocals. Then again, a friend of mine said he never noticed a difference in how he sang for either band so it could be just me. Anyway, how do you guys feel about the impending new album? Thoughts, hopes, concerns?
Feels. Listened and was about as disappointed as when Adam Gontier left Three Days Grace. Definitely lacking the gritty vocals! ๐ญ
I am so glad you thought so because my friend was really making me feel like I am crazy. "It sounds the same" TO WHOM. ๐
Bands evolve in sound, but, lead vocals can definitely make or break it. Your friend must really not want to let go of the past. ๐
