What's up with clothing?

  1. I am not big on shopping, usually. A lot of my clothes are hand-me-downs, shit I have accumulated from friends, older women who I mooch vintage fashion off of, etc. Spending $20 on food > spending $20 on a pair of pants.

That being said, I work with clothes. Visual merchandisers are meant to style mannequins, layout, pair and set clothing and accessories to make people want to buy them. I found a pair of jeans in the girls' department that had been marked down to $3.48 and I was like, "Okay, let me give these suckers a try."

Turns out, kids pants are amazing. They have more durable knees, adjustable waistbands (which is great if you have a smaller waist but bigger hips and thighs), have pockets, and they are half the price.

So, wtf? Why do our pants get demoted when we grow up?

Boy's T-shirts are soft, comfortable, the XL has more fabric than a women's XS but they are still a quarter the price. I literally only shop kids clothes now. Lmao

And look at these cuties. Super retro, precious and yet functional pockets- all I can find in women's are ripped jeans; nothing creative or unique.

I think women deserve adjustable waistbands, fun designs and motherfucking pockets.

Men, do you guys have any qualms with clothes?

  2. I've heard women's clothes are made less durable so that we shop more often (and then while we're replacing things we'll buy even more). Issa consumerism tactic. Also, female fashion changes so often that ppl who follow trends don't want clothes that will last forever, they want something cheap that they can use up and then replace in the next fashion season...not that ik anyone who actually follows magazine fashion trends but that's the alleged consumerist idea

  3. Adjustable waistbands are truly underrated :’(

  4. I just want real pockets.

I buy most of my sweaters in the men section cause all the girl shit is cropped nowadays. Plus for some reason they are softer so thats a plus

  5. I wear mostly boys' and men's clothing. I do have some girls' and women's clothing, but I'm a lot more pickier on them. It's so much more straightforward just buying boys'/men's clothes.

  6. Well, that's big dumb.

They really are! Like, I didn't even know they were a thing!

Cropped sweaters legitimately don't even make sense. Do you want to be warm or do you want to show off your belly? They are mutually exclusive. Men's sweaters are so comfy.

In my experience, they tend to value function over appearance, which I am super into, and you can definitely find pieces that are both. Women's clothing is like, "Functionality, who?"

  7. Same actually! Like...I want to be able to put my phone in my pocket without fear of it falling out every 10 seconds.

  9. Kids pants have adjustable waistbands because kids get pudgy then they shoot up. Then pudgy again, then tall and skinny again.

Adults tend to stay the same size

I've seen way more questionable things on trending clothing sites.

  12. I've sometimes wished I could fit into girls clothes. I have trouble finding any clothes that fit properly tho 🤧 shopping is a pain in the butt. Once I have a favorite item, I wear it until it falls apart, lol.

And women deserve more real pockets gosh darn it!

  13. 👍

Totally valid. I just think it has the potential to customize the way pants fit as well, to suit slightly different body types.

I wore them with a white crop top, a wide brimmed sunhat and wedges, got lots of compliments. ❤

  14. Whatever is more comfortable and fashionable is the best clothing for you.

"women's clothing" almost seems like it has to be retarded these days. If you ignore the label and just go for what you want, that's all that matters.

  15. I wear whatever is comfortable. When I go shop for my clothes it only takes me around 15 mins. Maybe less. I spend more time in checking out restaurants
