Bout to go get an eye exam done and considering getting some contacts so I can look less like a dweeb. Thoughts on contacts? I am scared of them tbh which is why I've never tried them before. Also, is it possible to put them in with my fake nails
Glasses look cool imo. They make one look smart and I dig them a lot. I rock the shizz out of my glasses. But contacts are alright, will take a minute to get adjusted to them.
Scared of contacts. I don't like putting foreign objects in my body ー ergo, my distaste for tampons which we've discussed. Also was not interested when my gyno suggested an IUD while we were discussing birth control. I like my glasses. They're easy to put on and take off, and I do that too frequently throughout the day depending on whether I need to be able to see far away (glasses) or up close (no glasses). I don't think with contacts you can be constantly doing that.
Yes.. you are very right. When I was doing contacts I was constantly taking them off to see up close and would revert to my glasses. Got a couple of migraines cause my eyes wouldn't adjust to the changes.
I agree with everything you've said, it's mostly a vanity thing for me. I like the way I look without glasses for certain outfits (although my round glasses are nice) but I'm getting so blind that have almost no option but to wear glasses even if they don't match my outfit
I tried them when I was younger. If you have long nails you might want to be careful when you’re putting them and taking them out. If you feel sleepy take them out or else you’ll accidentally fall asleep with them on your eyes and that tends to lead to issues. Try and find comfortable ones too; mine weren’t very comfortable, they were the hard plastic ones so it felt like I had rocks on my eyes. That’s basically all I can say.
If you know your prescription...you can order super cheap glasses online. I have a website I've used for 10+ years that sells a bunch for $8. Having 10 pairs of cool glasses is way better than lame contacts
Contacts take some getting used to but, to me, they are more comfortable than glasses. And, you can lay down and watch TV without the arms of glasses pushing up against your temple. Idk about the fake nails thing, though.
Contacts are great if you dont like how you look with glasses (such as myself) but it does take a while to get used to putting them on, like a day or two depending on the person. By the time I started doing my nails consistently I was used to contacts so it was just a minor adjustment to my hand/finger placement; taking them off was a bit scary at first tho lmao. Finding the type of contact lens that works for you is pretty much a trial and error sort of thing. Tho I suggest the one time use packets for newbies specifically since you dont know how your eyes are going to handle them. Little tip for putting them on: Turn your face downwards, then look up (ahead into the mirror) and place the contact (obvs in the white area, not your iris lol). Then look downwards and blink and few times to get it in place.
I’ve never had to wear glasses or contact lenses for my vision, and only times I used contact was for fun. It was quite easy to adjust and also fake nails shouldn’t be problem. I don’t know for sure but I don’t use my fingers to apply the lenses. Use the lense applicator, it’s much safer that way too.
Dudebros I am in lub w contacts now. I'll probs try to find the same brand for cheaper online since my optometrist charged me an arm and a leg but @ppl who were considering it/find them uncomfortable, w the right brand they are very nice and unnoticeable. The first ones I got were too small but I legit had to set a timer yesterday so I didn't fall asleep in them cuz I completely forgot they were there
