Hey guys, So we're seeing some confusion on what Honor Students actually do. Here's some clarification on the different roles: Honor Students: Be an awesome force for good in the Pimd Community. How to find them: Blue names in campus chat and forums, Honor Student badge on profile Responsibilities: Be awesome Try to make Pimd better by being here Moderators: Be a source of knowledge, guidance and safety for the Pimd Community. How to Find them: Green names in campus chat and forums, Resident Advisor badge on profile Responsibilities: Be awesome Try to make Pimd better by being here Answer questions about the game or support Maintain a public presence and be available to players Enforce our community policies (through warnings, status clearing and silences) Report to support and devs on issues For a day in the life of a mod, check out this guide For some of the misconceptions around being a mod, check out this post Developers: Make the game, listen to your feedback, post updates and the occasional meme. How to find them: Red name in campus chat and forums Responsibilities: Listen to your feedback Update community policies Make cool stuff for you guys More info: Being an honor student is a celebration of one's positive impact on the community, through excellent guides, helpfulness or just plain being entertaining for everyone. They embody pure awesomeness. That said, if they do start being less than awesome or breaking rules etc, we may need to take this honor away. Honor Student are NOT, moderators, and their knowledge or answers are not guaranteed or vetted by ATA. They're just awesome people being awesome and we wanted to recognize that. Moderators however, ARE there to answer your questions and help you out, and, if needed, silence people that are causing a disturbance. Because moderators have direct access to ATA devs, they know what's going or can find out quickly if there's an issue. Moderators apply for the position and are given thorough knowledge tests, along with multiple interviews and account screening before being instated, and they deal with a lot of responsibilities. Whereas Honor Students are based purely on their actions in the forums and in game. They're given a choice if they want this public recognition, however, they are under no obligation to answer questions, and are not tested on game knowledge or community policies.
You don't love me do you, ATA? You said you'd love me forever. but once you hit it you never called me back.
Thanks pimd! And is pimd_community still trapped? We don't see them come out and play with us anymore. You should give them visiting hours at least!
It's true, but we wanted to clarify that Mods go through a fairly intensive set of requirements and generally get reported if they're doing something wrong, so there's a bit more accountability/repercussions. You're welcome to be awesome and answer questions, but no one's gonna freak if you happen to derp and mess up.
