  1. Ignore the crappy title, this floated into my head literally ten minutes ago. It's 1am here. Please try not to slip on my word vomit.

I have no plans to continue this, but I haven't even gotten into the main detail of the actual plot... Oh well.

    Mirror Mirror

Sadie was a very unusual girl. In fact, there was nobody quite like her. Apart from the fact that her eyes were pitch black, with no sign of an iris at all, something odd occurred whenever she looked in a mirror.

    Her reflection wasn't there.

SHE was there, she could almost always see herself. But... Her image in the mirror was always doing something different.

For example. Sadie might be brushing her hair, but her mirror image would be admiring a new coat. Sometimes it just stared at her. It constantly varied, but Sadie wasn't bothered. She had grown up with it, and had regarded it as normal.

But when she tried to talk about it, nobody believed her. Only being the age of six, she was extremely quiet for her age. When she tried to talk to her mother of father about it, they merely dismissed it as the rambling imagination of a small child. After all, when they looked in the mirror with her, all they saw was their reflection.

Sadie didn't have any friends to tell. The black, soulless-seeming eyes terrified the other children. She still had the whites of her eyes, but the lack of an iris was too strange for the others.

Even her parents were a little uneasy about her eyes. They shrank away if Sadie stared at them for a little too long, or tried to distract themselves. Sometimes, they would just leave the room.

Though Sadie, even at her young age, was not bothered by this. She had never had friends, and thus did not miss or wish for them. She had never known her real parents, and since these surrogate parents sufficed, she had no need to meet them or find out about then. Sadie was perfectly content. At least, that was how she felt.

How could she be discontent with the only conditions she had ever known?

    -

It was a tediously ordinary Tuesday afternoon. Sadie had just arrived from home, and was looking in the mirror. She had been doing that a lot lately, ever since her 7th birthday about a week ago.

She watched her mirror image. It was staring right back at her. That was all it ever seemed to be doing since her birthday. Letting her mind wander as she looked at the mirror, a thought occurred to her.

    'Can it see me...?'

A thin, pale left hand was lifted into view of the mirror. Sadie seemed to possess no colour. Her eyes and hair were black, her skin was deathly white. She had never cut herself, so for all she knew her blood was black too. Or transparent, perhaps.

She gave a little wave to the thing -her second self- in the mirror.

It blinked, and waved back with its right hand.

  10. Just thought I should say, this was inspired by my own eyes. They're so dark that 99% of the time you can't see my iris, so they look completely black. It was also inspired by my twin sister (RIP) and the theory of parallel universes, with the thought that if they do exist, then maybe there's one where we are both alive.

However, my mirror just reflects me. There's no other person waving at me.

  11. Well you still should continue

  14. I actually quite like my soulless eyes... When I cry, my irises lighten so you can actually see my iris. So the only way for me to own a soul is to suffer :L
